Generally, a potpourri blend comprises of atleast three different types of botanicals. You can make your potpourri based on your various moods. You can add more botanicals to the previous mixture with a different scent, in order to alter the fragrance. Fixative forms an important part when it comes to potpourri. It is mainly used to absorb and hold the scent of the oil in the mixture to add that lingering effect. It provides a long-lasting effect to the potpourri for better results. Fixatives are available in various forms. Some traditional ones include orris root, bark, wood shavings, vermiculite and Fiberfix.
