I hit a lot of different irons before deciding on the Titleist AP1 714 irons. These are the clubs that make you better, but when you get where you need to be will still be very useable. Titleist AP1 714 provides higher-launching long irons and lower-launching short irons for longer flight with stopping control. The progressive center-of-gravity (CG) design better aligns the sweet spot where impact occurs, lower in the long irons and higher in the short, and produces an incredibly solid feel. The AP1s are a little more of a players iron than the mizuno mp59 irons. They are a game improvement type club, but I suppose geared somewhat toward the more serious player. They have less offset than a lot of GI class clubs, and they are contoured so as to minimize the look of the offset that is there. I don't have experience with the Mizuno golf wholesale clubs, but I know they make top quality clubs; so whether the AP1s would be an upgrade is a question I won't delve into. However, if you're thinking of shopping for AP1s, I would strongly urge you to look at Titleist's web site and see if there is an Advanced fitting center anywhere near you. To be frank, I have hit Taylormade, Callaway, Ping, etc. I just love these AP1 714 irons. It is simply the best irons I have ever played.
