I have been playing golf for the last 30 years and have tried all types and kinds of irons. The X Hot is the longest and most forgiving irons I have ever hit. I have gained at leat 15 yards on every iron. I am hitting the ball as far as I did 20 years ago. It is known to all, the Callaway X Hot performs rather well on the course. The deep undercut design of the Callaway X Hot irons allows Callaway to precisely position the centre of gravity and move the most compliant part of the face - the hottest part - lower, where most golfers make contact with the ball. When striking the 6-iron (26-degree; cranked several degrees in comparison to a standard 6-iron), I achieved an eight-yard distance gain of 170 yards. While it felt every bit like a 5-iron, trajectory felt like a 6-iron. Plucking a 6-iron from the bag, knowing it’s basically a 5-iron, will aid terrific confidence. But the X-Hot isn’t all about distance, however, as the deep undercut channel - which has allowed Callaway engineers to lower the sweet spot - provides solid forgiveness on off-centre hits. Similar to the TaylorMade RocketBladez irons, the X-Hot carries lower than normal degrees of loft to help you achieve remarkable distance gains, particularly with the long irons. Callaway also, for the first time, incorporated Speed Frame Face Technology from its Callaway X Hot driver into the X Hot Irons. Doing so optimizes stiffness across the face for more efficient energy transfer. This produces more ballspeed and consistent distance, even on off-center contact. Rounding out the X Hot Irons is the Feel Management Technology, a dual material medallion that fine tunes sound by promoting a crisp, dynamic feel at higher ball speeds. I have played approximately 25 rounds this year and still getting used to the distance adjustment. I am hitting longer and straighter ever before. Extremely forgiving on mishits, I would suggest that if you have never been fitted at your local golf shop, then do so and order the wholsale golf clubs here, for over half the cost.
