Ebola Excalibur Execution - A terrible unnecessary void

Current Affairs,Government,Health

A challenge to life itself and a mockery of Christian principles.

The extent of the incompetence if not stupidity of the modern politician practically everywhere in Europe, has not seen the likes of what happened in Spain at the hands of the Ministry in charge of the Ebola leakage. The calculated, sinister assassination of the hapless bundle of love called Excalibur is a clear signal that politicians and worse still, political parties, are run by insensitive overambitious people anxious only to pretend commitment.

The theatrical aspects of modern political management has, in the last 20 years, illustrated the rise to power of mediocrity. It would not matter to any great extent if the people could take care of themselves and establish a balance, but the cynical , grossly definitive decisions in their name, leaves little scope for corrective backlash. Corruption as never seen before at the heart of institutions fills the court rooms at public expense with little political will at the best of times to correct it or strip the culprits of wealth and power. In Spain with its unbelievably high level of social imbalances and according to Europe “excessive corruption” (whatever that means !) animal cruelty is but a byline for fun. Excalibur therefore became just another of those sidekicks in the name of protection of humanity.

This, isolated and depressed companion of the Ebola victim, no doubt a reason for survival on the nurse´s part, joins the ranks of others like “Laika” abandoned to her fate without food or water in an orbital death cell and who will forever lie in the depths of the subconscious of those who lived the day. This is but one more question to be answered by tacitly compliant Mankind in its seemingly hypocritical attitude to the right to life.

Excalibur suffered the misfortune perhaps, of being in the wrong place at the wrong time or perhaps with the wrong people. With his execution went the hearts of millions of stunned people throughout the world and especially when it smacked of expediency and falsified sentiments. It also, incredibly, smelled of a wasted opportunity to carry studies on the deadly disease to a new level of the game. Spain is still a basic non contributor to the European coffers despite the number of years that underlies its membership. It has also deviated critical employment and training fortunes for spurious use, according to the international media, from Government top level to friendly beneficiaries, whilst starving fully functional industries of essential financing. The plaintive cry of inadequate funds to quarantine and study Excalibur with the hope of one day returning it to his devastated mistress is therefore, as many columnists have said “ a sick joke”. One such writer even ventured to stress that whoever brought the thumb down on Excalibur in Roman fashion was just as capable of killing his own mother – not so farfetched, since an internationally recognized television interviewer of scientific personalities on matters of the human condition, recently commented that the psychopathic genetic markers (including his own) were very prevalent in political circles and could well explain their aggressive rise to power via bullying tactics. It could also explain the steep increases in political issues which deny public sensitivity any chance of finding expression. The judicial support in many instances of this nature in various European countries seem to also back the tendency towards totalitarian rule in favour of monopolistic industry. The solid but futile attempts on the part of regional authorities to fend off offshore drilling with all its proven consequences, proves the point. Democracy as one would expect from a United Europe appears, in some quaint way, not to be an issue in terms of political management. That is how it seems from an across-the-board look at the various indicators which betray the tendency.

The owner however, of the indescribably depressed dog now desperately fighting with the Ebola reaper at the door of her hospital cell, would have ironically, rather died than sign away the life of the only one who really cared for her unconditionally. Heaven help her if she awakens from her horror to find that she cannot share her glorious moment with her soul mate. Heaven help the one who would dare to tell her.

There are things on earth that would make the Heavens weep and this is but one of them.

(Since this article was written, a fearful husband terrified to be the bearer of the bad news joins Teresa´s cries of confused horror, begging to see the dog she looked forward to live for and refusing to believe he had gone from her life for ever. A more despicable act of gross stupidity is difficult to imagine and the world, thankfully agrees).
