Diwali dates back to centuries when Lord Ram came back to his empire after killing King Ravan and in a way created the example of win of good over evil. The story of Diwali is decades old and after destroying the existence of the very know ledged but evil Ravana, Lord Rama returned back to is kingdom "Ayodhya" gracefully along with his wife Seeta and younger brother Laxman. The citizens of Ayodhya Nagri were delighted with the return of the king and the lord Rama came back on the no moon night and so the people of the city lighted the paths with Diyas and that way gave a very nice welcome to them by lighting the candles all over the Ayodhya so that there is no place of darkness left and in a way also resembled win of truth over evil. The younger sibling of Lord Rama, Bharat, accepted to take the charge of his kingdom only for the time period till Ram was struggling in the forest, gave back the charge of Ayodhya back to Ram. The people of the Ayodhya accepted the Lord Rama as their efficient King who was very capable of handling the country. In the Indian culture, Diwali has a great importance and the Indian houses, the Hindu religion followers celebrate the festival as the most important one as per the Hindu mythology.
