Good to Go Insurance in Texas, Florida, California, and New York

Good to go auto insurance

One of the first things to check before you purchase auto insurance is the state’s minimum requirements and the minimum limits. Every state has different rules about this, so make sure you get the correct information from your state’s insurance department or simply as a licensed agency to guide you through the purchasing process. In most states, the minimum requirement includes liability coverage for injuries and property damages. The main difference is the minimum limit of coverage; it is the amount of payout covered by the insurance company should an accident happen. The payout is not for the insured, but for the other party involved in the event of an accident in which you are at fault.

Some states, however, use no-fault insurance with which the insurer will provide a payout to the insured regardless of who is at fault in the accident. There are also some states that have quite a lot of minimum auto insurance requirements for instance New York. Here are some examples of insurance requirements in different states and how Good to Go Insurance works in those places.

Houston and Dallas, Texas

Houston and Dallas are two major cities in the state of Texas. They are populous, and their predominant form of transportation is the car. Houston has more than 739 miles long of freeway and expressway systems stretched along many metropolitan areas. In 2009, the city was ranked fourth for the worst congestion in the United States; commuters spend an average of 58 hours on the road. Similar to other big cities in the country, the car is the primary means of transport in Dallas despite the city’s efforts to promote alternatives such as buses, trolley systems, and trains.

With so many cars on the road, the state of Texas has strict regulation regarding auto insurance. Every driver in Texas, including Houston and Dallas, is required to verify insurance information and Vehicle Identification Number through the TexasSure regulation. It is a program to reduce the number of uninsured drivers in Texas. Every driver in the state has to be financially responsible for owning and driving a car. There are some methods to acquire proof of financial responsibility, but the easiest one is by purchasing auto insurance.

The minimum coverage requirements and the limits are:

• Bodily Injury Liability to one person: $30,000 • Bodily Injury Liability per accident: $60,000 • Property Damage Liability: $25,000

In Houston and Dallas, Texas, goodtogo auto insurance works with a network of insurers under the roof of its parent company, American Independent Companies, Inc. Good2Go is licensed in Texas, but it does not currently underwrite insurance policies. It works by referring you to one of the licensed underwriters within its network such as Omni Indemnity Company, Omni Insurance Company, and Bankers Independent Insurance Company. Such referral system makes sure that the insurance policy you get complies with Texas insurance regulations.

Miami Beach, Florida

Miami Beach and all cities within the border of Florida use the same insurance laws regulated by the state of Florida. Unlike Texas and most states in the country, Florida implements no-fault insurance. It means your insurance company will provide the payout for you following an event of an accident regardless of who is at fault. Because the rule is different, the minimum insurance requirement is also different. Every driver in Florida is required to purchase at least:

• PIP (Personal Injury Protection): it is the coverage to make no-fault regulation possible. In the event of the accident, PIP will pay for your medical cost whether or not you are at fault. The good thing is that PIP also covers your passengers, children, and anyone who drives your car (as long as the person has valid driver license). PIP even covers the cost of a legal defense if necessary. The minimum limit is $10,000.

• PDL (Property Damage Liability): if you are liable for someone else’s property damages, PDL will cover the expense for repair or replacement. It covers not only car damages, but any property such as walls, fences, etc. The minimum limit is $10,000.

In Florida, Good2go Insurance works by referring you to a licensed subsidiary of American Independent Companies, Inc. for examples Omni Indemnity Company or Omni Insurance Company. It also helps to make sure that you get a valid auto insurance policy to comply with Florida laws.

California

Good2Go Auto Insurance is licensed in California, but it does not currently underwrite policies. It does its services by referring you to Omni Insurance Company which maintains a Certificate of Authority to transact insurance in the state. About 38 million people live in California and the state is known to have a strong car culture. Severe traffic congestion is the norm if California. With the rapid growth of population and more cars on the road, insurance is a must for all drivers. The minimum insurance requirement in California includes:

Bodily Injury Liability per person: $15,000 Bodily Injury Liability for more than one person: $30,000 Property Damage Liability: $5,000

New York

New York is an extensive state, very populous, and densely populated. In terms of insurance, New York probably has the most complicated rules and a lot of minimum requirements. Every driver has to have liability insurance, no-fault auto insurance, and uninsured motorist insurance.

1•Liability Insurance consists of:

•Bodily Injury per person:$25,000 •Bodily Injury to multiple people:$50,000 •Liability for death per person:$50,000 •Liability for death to multiple people:$100,000 •Property Damage:$10,000

2.No-Fault Insurance: the minimum limit for this coverage is $50,000. It will cover your medical cost for any car accident regardless of who is at fault. Lost income due to an accident, daily expenses, and death benefit are also covered.

3.Uninsured Motorist: in case you are involved in an accident with someone who is not insured, this coverage is your financial protection. The minimum limits of Uninsured Motorist coverage are $25,000 to one person and $50,000 to multiple people. It does not cover property damage.

In the state of New York and all cities within its border, Good2Go Insurance works with two subsidiaries of American Independent Companies, Inc. including Omni Insurance Company and Omni Indemnity Company. Good to Go Insurance makes sure you get the appropriate coverage based on the state’s regulation with the proper limits.
