Surgery ... but Mark says he was able to walk away Surgeon ... Dr Roberto Viel AS Mark Edwards was taken into theatre, he claims he stayed calm as surgeons prepared to operate on his manhood. He was having a penoplasty — the scary-sounding surgery is used to either lengthen or thicken the penis — and he had opted for extra thickness. Mark, 32, said: “They took fat from my love handles and injected it into the bottom of my penis. "They increased the thickness by 1.5ins. "When I came round the pain wasn’t as agonising as I’d imagined. "The liposuction felt worse. There was redness on my penis where they’d gone in but it wasn’t blackened or bruised... it looked like a fat cucumber.” Mark, from Birmingham, insisted he was able to walk away from the London Centre For Aesthetic Surgery on Harley Street where the operation took place just a few hours later. He said: “I wasn’t walking like John Wayne but my surgeon warned me I wouldn’t be able to make love for another two weeks. When Mark’s dressing was removed and the swelling had lessened he was thrilled. Especially by the reaction of the few close friends he showed it to. Mark said: “One was well impressed. He said it had ‘pucked-up nicely’. And when I had sex three weeks later, I felt more confident than ever.” That op was eight years ago and two years ago Mark had a second penoplasty at the same clinic, carried out by Dr Roberto Viel. There had been a degree of “natural shrinkage” and Mark had chosen to have occasional £100 “top-ups” with fat removed from his love handles — which can be stored in a fridge for up to two years. Mark, a construction worker, is now married to Claire, also 32, and is dad to two-year-old Ben. He insisted he did not opt for the surgery because of any complaints from women. He said: “No one had ever said I was too small but growing up I was curious how I measured up to other blokes. "You can’t just whip it out in the changing room and compare notes.” He had always assumed the length of his penis was OK but was unsure about the width. He added: “Aged 17, I’d sit in my bedroom and get the old tape measure out to see how big I was. "I read that the average man was around 6.5 inches long — which is exactly what I was. "But I didn’t want to be Mr Average. And I definitely wanted to be thicker.” A few years later when Mark read about the work of the clinic, regularly performing five penis enlargements a week and with month-long waiting lists, it struck a chord with him. But it wasn’t until eight years ago, when he found himself single for the first time in years, that he took the plunge and decided to have the £3,850 “girth” op. He said: “I had savings and didn’t have to answer to anyone. "But it took me three weeks to pluck up the courage to call. "Saying the words ‘penis enlargement’ down the phone was the hardest part!” He hasn’t looked back since — but told only those few friends until three months into his relationship with shop worker Claire, who he met a year after the first op. He said: “She thought it was hilarious but when I said I wanted to do the op again as a booster 18 months after we got married, she insisted I was perfect and didn’t need to do it. "But she didn’t stand in my way.” He has no regrets. Mark added: “It’s made me feel better about myself. "To other men, I’d say don’t just do it because some woman says you’re too small. "Do it for yourself.” This site contains materials from other clearly stated media sources for the purpose of discussion stimulation and content enrichment among our members only. whatsonningbo.com does not necessarily endorse their views or the accuracy of their content.
