When shopping for remote control cars it is beneficial to know a little about the items so you can determine if you are getting a good price. There is a lot more to remote control cars than just the fact that you hold a controller and push a button to make them go. Knowing the different features available will help you choose the right item. Remote control cars come in two basic designs. You can get the wired version that has the car attached to the controller by physical wires and you can buy the remote control cars that have no wires connecting them to their controller. The versions of these devices that have physical wires generally have about six foot of wire between the controller and the vehicle. The vehicles that are not connected to their controllers will have certain distances that they can be away from their controller. The farther away the operator can be from the actual vehicle the more expensive the vehicle will be. There are devices that are designed to be very long distances away from their operator. Most of these are the racing vehicles and the ones that are designed for adult use electric battery operated ride ons.. The majority of all radio controlled items operate on batteries. They need batteries in the control pad and they need batteries in the actual item. There are some of these items that have batteries in the control pad you hold, but the vehicle is powered by a fuel such as gasoline. The devices that require gasoline and fuels of this nature are generally larger than the other ones and they are definitely more expensive to purchase. These are not designed to be played with by children, but are intended for adult enthusiasts to use. Some of the features you may find on these items that will change the price are working headlights, horns that honk, doors that open, radios that function, and different controls. Most of the cheaper cars simply go forward and reverse, but the higher priced items often have speed controls, and the ability to turn the front wheels independently of the rear wheels. There are vehicles designed to be run on dirt and some of them are designed for concrete or asphalt use only.
