The popular multinational construction company of Spanish origin, Duro Felguera formed a strategic alliance with the popular Australian company Ausenco recently. This memorandum of understanding brings together two mighty companies to jointly deliver EPC projects globally. Both the companies focus on increasing their market share in their respective sectors. The alliance has given an opportunity for Duro Felguera to hold a 4.99% shares of Ausenco. The big mining, construction and engineering firms have arrived at this partnership to benefit both the parties. Even though both the companies offer similar services, there is no likelihood of competition because there is little overlap of clients. The joint venture by both the companies will financially benefit the shareholders as they can take up on huge EPC projects. Rather than working from the opposite ends, the companies will work together to deliver better EPC projects and ensure highest customer satisfaction. The partnership between Duro Felguera and Ausenco is defined in such a way that it doesn’t affect the existing operations of the companies. In future, the EPC projects will be jointly delivered by both the companies. Even then, there is no strong requirement for both the companies to work on all projects together. The engineering giants will work on a case by case basis to figure out projects that can be benefited from working together. Only those projects will be undertaken jointly to provide superior quality of service. The comprehensive operations of both the firms are very similar and highly sought after by the clients. Participating in a joint venture will benefit both the parties due to the similarities in their operations. The alliance paves way for each party to take advantage of their geographic footprint. Both the parties have excellent record of engineering expertise. This can also be used to deliver highly successful EPC projects in the near future. Duro Felguera and Ausenco have branches in numerous countries in all the five continents. The alliance provides an opportunity for the firms to reinforce their strengths and improve the scope of services provided for the clients. Ausenco specializes in studies and engineering services throughout different phases of project development, providing support for feasibility studies for the clients. DF on the other hand is more focused on delivery of turnkey or in other words, EPC construction. The alliance will help the clients to deal with a single contract throughout the entire lifecycle of the project. This saves a lot of money for the worldwide clients, while also providing excellent opportunities for both Ausenco and DF to deliver high performance. The CEO of DF assured that with the alliance the company will be able to deliver high quality services on larger projects in the field of mineral processing. The CEO of Ausenco is also interested in taking a major role in delivering turnkey EPC projects globally. The solid working relationship between both the companies will greatly benefit clients all over the world looking for cost effective EPC solutions. With the growth in both the size and complexity of projects, the international clients are in need of best solutions on EPC basis. Resource Box: The MOU between Duro Felguera and Ausenco provides more benefits for both the organizations.
