You probably know about the savings and great deals you can get from department stores when you go shopping on Black Friday, but did you know that is also a good day to get some fantastic travel discounts too? Would you be happy to book a great discount on an air tour of the Grand Canyon? Fortunately, you can! Several tour operators are offering Black Friday discounts this year on flights originating in Las Vegas or Tusayan that go to the South Rim or West Rim. Which rim would you like to see? The adventurous West Rim or the scenic South Rim? Flights Out Of Vegas It's easy to find a tour that matches your budget and schedule when you fly out of Vegas, because there are so many different options available. You get a choice between several different landing tours or you can take an air-only tour. As an added bonus, all of the flights take the same path that give you an aerial view of Lake Mead and the Hoover Dam when you fly out of Vegas. Air-only tours are fantastic if you want to see panoramic scenic views of the Canyon, but if you want some thrills and added fun, then book a landing tour instead. A landing tour you should consider is one that lands on the canyon floor where you are treated to a nice Champagne picnic and rafting tour along the Colorado River. Other tours set down on top of the rim, and these are popular too because that's where the Skywalk is located, and you don't want to miss your chance to walk out on the glass bridge. You also have the option of taking a tour by plane rather than by chopper. Although the planes set down on top of the rim, you can book a helicopter flight to take you to the canyon floor once you land, if you want to enjoy the picnic or take the rafting tour. You'll see the same sights from the air whether you take a helicopter or airplane, the difference between the two is that the planes have to fly at a higher altitude. Flights Out Of Tusayan, Arizona If you want to take an air tour of the South Rim, you'll begin your tour at the airport in Tusayan, Arizona, which is just outside the park's gates. If you'll be staying in Arizona, you'll have to make your way to Tusayan yourself, but if you're staying in Vegas, you can book a 60 minute flight from Vegas to Tusayan and then begin your South Rim tour. Unlike the West Rim, landing tours are not allowed at the South Rim. The South Rim is very scenic, and the tours are worth the experience, especially the longer tour that flies you over 3/4 of the entire National Park land. This particular tour can be taken by airplane or chopper, and it flies from the South Rim all the way to the remote North Rim, and then takes a jaunt over to the eastern border of the National Park before heading back to the South Rim. The sightseeing airplanes used on these tours take 19 passengers each trip and the helicopters can carry only six. If you have several people in your group, you may need to take the airplane tour so everyone can experience the tour together. Get A Discounted Price To get the lowest price on your air tour, be sure to book your tour online on Black Friday. By buying your tour online, you'll get instant confirmation of your seat reservations, so you won't have to worry about the tour being sold out when you take your trip. Just be sure to complete the transaction with your credit card and actually buy the tour because that is the only way to secure your seats, even if you book them in advance. Keep in mind the temperatures are getting cooler at the Canyon this time of year. It's best to dress in layers so you can be prepared for a range of weather conditions. Plan Your Tour Now Just remember to use your credit card to buy your tour online on Black Friday, and you'll get the best price possible on the tour your pick out. You can create a tour package that includes activities you enjoy on the time and date of your choice, which makes it easy to take an adventurous excursion into America's scenic wonderland.
