How to Increase The Chances of Winning When Carpet Cleaning Stains of Sticky Candies

Home Improvement,Health,Family & Parenting
Sticky candy and gum can be a real hassle to remove from your carpet, but don't panic. Sticky candy can get ground into your carpet and you don't even know it.The longer it sits there the worse the mess gets. Don't reach for your scissors to try and cut the sticky gunk out of your carpet. We suggest you let the stain dry completely, and then carefully scrape what you can from the surface of the carpet. Be very gentle. You don't want the gum or candy to sink further into the carpet fibers. After you have removed as much candy as you can from the carpet, use our spot remover to attack the stain. Blot the stain with a clean, white cloth to absorb the spot remover along with the stain. Again, be very, very gentle. You really don't want to push the stain further into the carpet.

Candy that has been in little mouths sometimes find their way to your carpet and inevitably get stuck in the fibers similar to getting stuck in hair we tend to think we may reluctantly need to reach for the scissors to remove the sticky mess but this isn't always necessarily true. There are actually a number of methods you can try on your carpet before reaching for the scissors to cut it out.

Candy, no matter how sweet, may leave a bitter impression on some of your favorite items. Here's how to treat those sticky stains after you treat your sweet tooth.

It's hard for kids to turn down sweet candy treats, and sometimes they manage to spill it all over your clean carpet. Candy messes on the floor can be fairly stubborn accidents to clean up, especially if it's deeply embedded into the carpet fibers. Candy contains many different dyes, depending on what type of sweet it is. You need to take into account what type of carpet you have because there are different procedures for removing sticky candies from carpet. It's not a good idea to forcefully pull stuck candy out of your carpet because it can rip the carpet fibers up, and leave loose dangling threads.

Initially, you need to take some sort of scraping tool (butter knife works great) and scrape up as much of the excess sticky candy from the carpet. You need to eliminate as much of the thick, caked-on candy from the floor. Next, dip a sponge into warm water, gently brush outward from the center of the stain to wipe off any more candy particles. Now, take approximately ½ a teaspoon of liquid dish soap and work it into the carpet fibers with your fingers. Wet a paper towel and blot the stain to transfer the surplus of candy. You will need a clean cloth dipped in distilled white vinegar, and then begin to dampen the remaining stain. Let the distilled white vinegar sit for a few minutes, in order to better remove the candy stain. The distilled white vinegar will help dissolve any of the leftover candy residues! To lift, press down onto the stain with a clean cloth. If the stain still persists, repeat the process of dampening the spot with vinegar, and then blotting. Once you have fully removed the candy spill, flush the newly cleaned area with water. Allow the affected area to dry naturally. Store-bought carpet cleaners for stains also prove to be just as effective as well.

Don't let little candy messes get you frustrated, candy stains might take a little bit of elbow grease, but they are definitely not impossible to clean up!
