Relational Unified Process is one of the modern techniques of process model that is derivative of UML and concerned with Unified Process Models. All SAP software are using Relational Unified Process Model as it is good example of hybrid process model. RUP gathers all the features of all generic models.RUP is different as compared to the conventional process models in following aspects. A dynamic perspective displays the phases of model that changes with time A static perspective shows the way in which a process makes into act A practice perspective is responsible to all good process that makes a process successful RUP is phased model and its working four phases are described below Inception In any software environment external entities are always interacted with the system so in inception all external entities are recognized that interact with the system and interaction is also defined in this phase. The information received because of this interaction is used to access contribution that the system makes with the business. Further steps of the project are continued because of this phase. In case of minor contribution the project is cancelled after the completion of this phase. In case of more contribution the project is continued.We can say that this phase is responsible to establish a business case for the system. Elaboration This part is mainly having concern with the understanding of the problem domain. An architectural framework of the system and development of the project plan are defined by the elaboration phase. Moreover key project risks of the project are also handled in this phase. At the completion of this phase you get an understanding of requirement of the project that may be from UML use cases. Construction After getting familiarity with the requirement of the project, construction phase helps in designing, programming and testing. All parts of the system are not developed one by ones but are developed in parallel and finally all of the parts are integrated to make it a complete system. Transition In this phase the development work is finished and system is handled to the users to make a real environment. When a SAP software is developed, a developing community of SAP also goes through the above mentioned points. SAP software are also popular because of abiding by the RUP phases.
