Newbury offers a great range of options for days out. This is no matter whether you may be with your children, friends or even alone. There is for sure a great deal to see and do in and around the town; to add to this, the shopping is not too bad either. There are a great number of attractions, from sightseeing to the museum in the town. You can be sure there is something for everyone to see and take in. To get the most out of your time in the town and even more so if you may be staying in the town, it helps to look up what to do. Look online and you will first hand be able to see the best attractions and things to do in Newbury. There are also other nearby picturesque towns and villages such as Newbury, Hungerford and small hamlets all of which show the finest countryside the West Berkshire and surrounding Newbury area can offer. Many of Newbury’s tourist attractions are open all year round, much like a lot of the other local attractions on offer in this part of Berkshire. Highclere Castle and Gardens is for sure a must see, must visit attraction to make sure you go to should you be in the area. It has been home to the Carnarvon family since 1679. Built on an ancient site, the original house was recorded in the Domesday Book. Highclere Castle has become the location of Downton Abbey and is open all year round to vsit. This is for sure a highly recommended landmark to visit and see. Newbury is also know for so much more and so much else. There is of course the famed racecourse. Just out of town, there is also Bombay Sapphire; the main and only plant from where the world famous gin is made at. If you visit the plant you will first hand be able to get stuck right in with how the gin is made and distilled and you will be able to take in full processes and fusions which make the gin. This is just yet another great “thing to do” close to the Newbury area.
