Texas, a state known for oil production, has become a leader in the development and use of renewable energy, especially wind power. And solar energy production is growing rapidly in the “Lone Star State,” spurred on by its abundant sunshine and the sharp drop in the price of solar panels in recent years. As VOA’s Greg Flakus reports from Houston, economics supersedes politics on this issue.
