Most people know what comes with traditional living room sets in Atlanta--a sofa, a loveseat, an entertainment center, a coffee table, and perhaps an end table. Occasionally you'll have a few other pieces thrown in there, like a media cabinet, and maybe some accessories like a rug or floor lamp. But most furniture stores do not stray from the traditional collection of furniture for their living room sets. |
Does that mean that you should limit your living room to the furniture that comes in these sets? Of course not! Consider adding one of these less conventional pieces to add a little variety to your living room.
Ottomans Ottomans are greatly underappreciated pieces of furniture. These upholstered footrests can serve many purposes. Not only can you kick up your feet on them, but they can serve as extra seating when you host a gathering. Many can be opened up and used for storage. Some people even push several ottomans together and use the surface area as a non-traditional coffee table. They're a great addition to any living space.
Pews and Benches Benches are often left in the outdoors, while pews are sequestered in churches. But these 2 types of seating can make a great addition to your living room and add a bit of unique flare as well. The right style bench or pew can make your room feel like a cozy farmhouse, or like a refined mansion. Shop around and see what catches your eye. Plus, many of them have hollowed-out seats that offer added storage.
When it comes to decorating your home, there's really no wrong way to do it. Just find something that you love and create a space you feel comfortable in. If using one of the above furniture pieces works well for you, then great! If you're totally happy with traditional living room sets in Atlanta, then that's just fine as well.
