CANADA - A SILENT CRY IN THE COLD WILDERNESS Canada – the Promised land of the early settlers and the light at the end of the tunnel of the intrepid Templars, has curdled miserably beyond recognition. Where we spoke of hope and beauty and plentiful fare, we now face political tension, economic downturns and disgustingly, lower human rights tolerance than anyone would have ever expected in that Arcadia - the Golden Tree of Frazer fame so resonant in their Lárbre dór - the tree of hope that shattered so many other well meant promises in so many invaded territories. The mores the pity as the 21st century ushers in the age of megalomaniacs, political psychopaths and money freaks out to reach for Forbes in their way to Heaven (or more likely Hell). If that was not enough, the very Canadian Government itself, with the scion of the pirouetting Pierre Trudeau on board - locks adrift and every inch the yuppie prig, allows his government to finance the assassination, under the most satanic conditions, of real creatures of paradise in the form of the beautiful young seals who have so touched our hearts over the last decades. Today even with growing hatred against them in every corner of the world the pathetic cowardly hunters dig their pick axes into their heads and even within the breast feeding period of intense dependence. The wounded that flee courageously are doomed to slow, agonizing deaths whatever the nature of the wounds. Dante could have never imagined his inferno in such blissful scenery and before the blood pours out in such despicable torrents. THE MASSIVE EVIL DEED. Hacked to death slowly by evil, revolting psychopaths (nothing else could do anything like that), these innocent babies who share most of their genes with us, recoil with horror even at their age at the threatening emanations of these frenzied hunters. That these events which defy the very base of all human sentiments should be allowed to take place for skins that cannot be sold to cover costs, is incomprehensible even assuming that profit is a primordial motive that maintains humanity. The pain and revulsion is shared by millions of sentient, cultured people throughout the world which is now exposed to its horror by useless alerts and mind defying imagery that will mark them all for life. And all for a clear loss, devoid of sense and betraying apathetic leadership which finds its daily chores elsewhere and perhaps even more nonsensically. Given time and millions of more deaths it seems probable that they will get round to it eventually. How gruesome…. The bloodbath of the innocents lies at the very foot of the disregard for human values which these Canadian leaders and their accomplices so obviously demonstrate. Even now, the very nature of Canadian respect for human rights is also displayed worldwide and it seems to put a very final full stop on the glory of a false name which hides so much pain and suffering. Perhaps, the very nature of its indoctrinated inhabitants who appear not to take much notice of these elements is at the very center of this unlikely trauma. Apathy is born of boredom and oars that appear to go nowhere can so easily be thrown overboard. Even the Mounties in their early stalwart images of proud display and public conscience, appear to be tainted with gross abuse of too many unnecessary calories not to mention lack of real exercise and commitment. Someone appears to be away from the helm too often, too unconsciously for any of this to be taken for granted. OTHER VICTIMS OF REPRESSION If the native Indians had a say in their own land, it is more than likely that they would rather sleep with their dead than allow the drift of this assault on nature to reach their outraged hearts. Where killing for food formed part of religious ritual in appeasement with the Gods of their own victims, today they see the greed and lust of a handful of desecrators who so blindly hack living creatures with such venom that head or tail makes little difference except in the attempt to flee and find something to give them their love back. Life is still the subject of great study with little difference between design and incidental origins. Even the great Hawkins and Dawkins of this world dare not put the final seal on their beliefs, but the fact of the matter is in the eyes of the victims which spell what we already know so well - that taking life for any purpose must have a price – a final reckoning that measures up to the revulsion and fear that most of us feel at the threat against it. How or why we or any living creature came about and for what reason is perhaps the very last element we would be able to decipher and even then , at the peril of our own existence as a price. Those direct and indirect instigators, without taking those gruesome killers into account, will without doubt pay for it as sins stain their issue. May it happen sooner than later if it means bringing to light the understanding that the price of disdain for life is a pledge to death. Appeased by retribution and growing concern for life, mankind may perhaps invoke the grand aspiration that may quickly banish such evils from the face of our potentially beautiful world. Michael Mifsud Canilla started is journalistic life as a House of Commons lobby correspondent for the Commonwealth and travelled with the Royal Family on foreign tours for over 10 years meeting leaders like Trudeau, Tito and Pompidou apart from getting to know the uninhibited and wholly human Royal couple fairly well. He has written, published and broadcasted in both Britain and Spain with a Spanish mother and a Maltese father. He published Britain´s first trade journal in the early seventies and captured press attention as he did also as parental advisor to his protegee, Farzhad Bazoft who sought fame too quickly too rashly and was tortured and hanged by the devilish Sadham Hussein. He is an animal activist living very close to over twenty rescues for over twenty years and is saddened by the crass lack of sensitivity shown by so many national leaders with respect to the protection of animals. rights.
