Another of the highest prices realized at Cherrystone’s recent auction was $11,000, this time for a set of two stamps. The over-$10,000 stamps were issued in 1941 in the Eastern European country of Montenegro. An interesting fact about that stamps that contributed to the high value of the lot is that they were issued when Montenegro was under Italian occupation during World War II.
