Three Great Holiday Parks in Dorset

Travel & Tourism
As one of the top spots for self-catering holidays, Dorset is home to a range of resorts that offer everything from natural beauty to decadent relaxation. Whether you’re looking for a luxury lodge, cosy cottage or comfortable caravan, this beautiful county has something for everyone. Here are three amazing places to stay.

Golden Cap

If you’re headed to Dorset for its magnificent natural landscapes, Golden Cap Holiday Park is the ideal destination. It’s located right on the coast, with the beautiful Seatown Beach just a two-minute walk from the park entrance, and also offers easy access to the South West Coast Path, a 630-mile walking route which includes the full 95-mile span of the striking Jurassic Coast.

The resort itself is named for the nearby Golden Cap cliff, which is the highest point on Britain’s southern coast, and is situated within 2000 acres of National Trust Land. With a range of top-of-the-line lodges and caravans available to hire, you can relax in comfortable accommodation without sacrificing the opportunity to enjoy the rural beauty of the area.

With an on-site shop for essentials and takeaway pizza available from reception, this resort offers everything that’s required for self-catering holidays. Dorset is also famed for its excellent local produce, and the Anchor Inn on nearby Seatown Beach prepares a range of delicious meals using these ingredients.

Highlands End

Like to stay active on holiday? Look no further than Highlands End Holiday Park. This amazing resort is located on the rugged cliffs of the Jurassic Coast, offering easy access to the nearby Eype beach, and has a range of on-site activities to keep you occupied. Highlands End boasts its own well-equipped leisure centre, complete with a swimming pool, sauna and steam room. If you’re the sporting type, you can make use of the tennis court or the ten-acre, nine-hole pitch ‘n’ putt course with its incredible sea views.

The resort’s grocery shop supplies a range of amenities that are perfect for those on self-catering holidays. Dorset’s cuisine is well-known for being sourced from the county itself, and in keeping with this tradition, you’ll find a variety of local produce on sale here. For those days on which you’d rather not prepare food yourself, there’s also Martin’s Bar & Restaurant and the Cowshed Coffee Shop on the site.

Dorset Resort

If you’re looking for a little luxury, the Dorset Resort boasts gorgeous five-star lodges and cottages set amid a peaceful fir forest glade. Accommodation here comes complete with fully equipped kitchens and outdoor BBQ areas, ideal for self-catering holidays. Dorset can be seen at its best here, with beautiful countryside and gorgeous woodland providing a perfect setting for relaxation.

Despite its rural location, there’s no lack of things for guests to do. A particular standout is the 27-hole championship golf course designed by world-famous course architect Martin Hawtree, offering a challenging experience for any golfer. There’s also a secluded coarse fishing lake for the exclusive use of guests and club members, which is widely considered to be one of the best fishing spots in the county.

Other on-site amenities include a fully equipped gym, a beauty salon with nail and beauty treatments, and a three-rink bowling arena. It’s also a perfect spot for walking, jogging and cycling, with scenic woodland trails and routes winding all around the area.

With so many options for self-catering holidays, Dorset really does have something for everyone. Why not take your next break in this beautiful county?
