What are the Mindsets of Rummy Players in India and Those in Other countries?

Entertainment,Recreation & Leisure
Rummy is an age old card game that has been a part of the history and culture of many countries around the world. It has evolved in different ways in different nations and is known by different names. Nevertheless, one common aspect is that, the masses across the globe have been devouring the game with great enthusiasm. With the revolution in technology, the game has donned an all-new vibrant avatar. The popularity of online rummy has broken all previous records to become the hot favourite of card buffs. However, the denizens of different nations play the game for different reasons and as such have varied mindsets.

Perspectives of the citizenry about almost every facet, activity or even life vary from region to region and time to time. To exemplify, most South Asians believe in working very diligently to earn well. They perceive that they must be able to save enough for not only their future, but also that of their progeny. To do this, they toil hard day in and day out. When we talk about the western world, the citizens there have an entirely different attitude towards life, income and savings. They believe in living in the present moment. Most of them sweat it out on weekdays and make merry on the weekends. Saving for the future, especially that of their offspring is the last thing on their mind.

Likewise, people indulging in rummy game have different attitudes, which are greatly influenced by their nationality. When we talk about the mindsets of rummy players in India and those in other nations, they are essentially governed by what we have mentioned in the second paragraph regarding the life-ideology of the inhabitants of various countries.

People in western countries are pretty fond of amusement and when it comes with challenges, they just lap it up. That explains their fondness for adventure sports too. A lot of us have seen Bear Grylls in his ‘Man vs. Wild’ series on the Discovery channel. This Irish man craves exploits in the wilderness. To cut the long story short, we can deduce that westerners are more interested in brain storming entertainment and lavish extravaganzas. As such, they are more concerned about the fun quotient of rummy and the mind boggling challenges it involves. For them, it is an excellent means of recreation. Pumping money into the game catapults the adrenaline rush that the game gives them. Hence, it can be said that rummy players in other countries indulge in the amazing card game primarily for fun.

Now let us take a peek into the world of Indian players of the game. It is a widely known fact that India is a land of diversity. The inhabitants here follow diverse cultures, customs and traditions. India has multifarious shades, and so are the attitudes of rummy players here. The radiant tables of the game witness the presence of players from all over the country. However, just like their motherland, they have different things on their minds when they play the game.

The youth and the affluent Indians mostly indulge in their passion for rummy for the superb relaxation and thrill it offers. To them, money is a secondary concern. However, we also have youth who are opting for the game as a new age career option. This is because it is essentially a game of skills and can be mastered with practice. Those in the middle age exercise their rummy skills at the vibrant online rummy platform to enjoy but along with it, they have the monetary advantage that the game provides in their subconscious mind. The elderly play the game predominantly for recreational purposes. Housewives land at rummy sites to relieve themselves of the stress of their hectic lives and to make some extra pocket money.

However, be it foreign players or their Indian counterparts, everybody loves the exhilarating pleasure that rummy offers to card enthusiasts and of course, nobody minds the extra bucks that they are able to mint out of the game every now and then. As a matter of fact, these winnings are like icing on the cake for all and sundry, and make the game all the more enticing. Apart from this, another reason why people from diverse backgrounds revel in the game is because it is a skill game. Players are at an advantage of gaining significant skills which come handy in the game as well as life. Winning this brain game gives them immense satisfaction from within.

To Conclude The primary purpose of a game is amusement and relaxation. And many rummy buffs feel that investing money in the game enhances the fun. They experience a surge in the thrill and excitement associated with the game when they play with real money. While foreign lovers of the game play it mainly as a mind blowing leisure pursuit, Indian players have myriad hues. Some of them play solely for amusement, some others for enhancing or acquiring skills, yet others play it because it is a challenging brain game and still others have money on their mind.
