San Lorenzo Although the façade of the church remains merely bricks, the history of the design is one of the most impressive of the city’s many religious sites. Designed by Brunelleschi, this was the church of the famed Medici family, whose names are synonymous with the city. The façade, which was sadly never finished, was designed by Michelangelo, whose sculptures are also within the grounds of the church.
