Ever wondered where technology might be leading to? We’ve been introduced to a number of astounding possibilities in motion pictures where the transportation gets high up in the skies with flying cars or via teleportation tubes and robots that answer to our every whim with efficiency. It may not be put into reality as soon as possible, but it’s very much probable. After all, you can’t rush genius. Nevertheless, the innovations that are being held in place in today’s technological community have been nothing but incredible just like the following trends, incorporating technology into clothing or wearables. Bulletproof Suit I have always been curious what it would be like to try on those bulletproof vests the police wear during raids where they are out to catch some criminals. Will it really protect me from stray bullets and knife fights? They should be! Then again, they can be quite uncomfortable to wear day to day under your fashion garments. If only I could be both fashionable and secured at the same time...hey wait! It’s possible with a bulletproof suit! You read that right, Canadian company Garrison Bespoke has in its hands a line of custom-fitted suits that functions the same way a bulletproof vest will. With carbon nanotubes threads sewn underneath the lavish clothing, the protection against incoming projectiles can be assured. The suit carries three layers of carbon nanotube threads to prevent the bullet or knife from piercing the body, breaks up and absorbs the impact and minimize trauma to the man in the suit. The suit can keep you safe from rounds of 9mm, .22 and .45 caliber handguns. With this much protection in clothing, expect that it will come with a great price that starts at $20, 000. If you have the riches, get one for yourself whilst if you don’t, you could always have your smartphone shield your heart from a bullet. Ha! NFC Ring The most important things in life are the ones we always forget, just like keys. There must be some psychological explanation behind it, which I strongly believe there is, but isn’t really the subject for discussion in this portion of the article. With technology at our side, the habit of forgetting and losing any sort of keys can be cured through NFC. There’s little to no chance you’ll be losing your only access to the private possessions such as your smartphone and your home in particular. The NFC Ring is a simple steel or titanium ring that’s been built with near-field communication functionality. The two inlays of the ring have different operations to perform. The top inlay allows the user to share public information with friends using a bump gesture with another device. The bottom inlay, on the other hand, carries out more private actions such as opening your NFC-enabled door lock. The NFC ring works well with Android, Windows Phone, and BlackBerry devices. It has the capacity to hold approximately 144 bytes of data and can be compared to a portable USB drive requiring no battery or any form of charging. Also, it is water-resistant. Pretty neat, wouldn’t you agree? These are the wearables made for your protection against physical and virtual invaders.
