The TaylorMade SLDR White Driver will be exactly the same as the standard SLDR driver in terms of specs, size and weight, with the addition of a white crown colour. 2. Putting - The Right Pressure is a Light Pressure
October 16, 2014

Do you sometimes feel you have a “death grip” on your Scotty Cameron Newport 2 Putter 2014 during your stroke?  Do you sometimes decelerate during your stroke or feel you hit or ‘pop’ the putt instead of making a smooth pendulum stroke?  One culprit may be your grip pressure as your hands are your only connection to your putter and too much pressure in the hands will affect your putter’s motion during your stroke. The first and most important key to successful putting is the belief that you…“Are a great putter.”  Believe that ... (read more)

3. Why I love forgiving, game-improving Ping G25 Driver?
October 14, 2014

Unlike in year’s past, this year’s scores were entirely based on the performance of each driver head, removing the subjective categories of looks, sound and feel from the equation. The cheap Ping G25 Driver has a CG that is not just the lowest and most rearward of any Ping driver, but quite possibly the lowest and most rearward of any driver in golf. It’s available in lofts of 8.5, 9.5, 10.5 and 12 degrees, and comes stock with Ping’s counterbalanced TFC 189D shaft. That allows the G25 to be built to a stock length of 45.75 inches and carry a stock swing weight of D... (read more)

4. Callaway X2 Hot is a very forgiving driver
October 14, 2014

The new Callaway X2 Hot is about ball speed. This driver is highlighted by Callaway’s Hyper Speed Face made of 455 Carpenter steel. If you're unfamiliar with the OptiFit hosel it helps you optimise better launch conditions by adjusting loft and lie independently. The loft range varies from 2 degrees up to 1 degree down from the stock loft of each driver. Lofts for X2 Hot are 9, 10.5 and 13.5 HT. The face of the X2 Hot driver is 4 percent larger than the face of the previous Callaway X Hot driver, without adding any weight. Tour Green has been more popular than Tour Blue on the PGA Tou... 5. TaylorMade Burner 2.0 irons are very sweet
October 14, 2014

I play the cheap taylormade burner 2.0 irons and I like them. I need help cause I'm not a very solid iron player and these irons are pretty forgiving, not much distance lost on mis-hits. They look very slick and are very easy to look at at address. When you hit it perfectly it feels like butter coming off the face. I figure if you don’t fall in love you have no chance to make it over the long haul. I mean these babies are gonna be in my bag longer than my first marriage, and since not every round is going to be “one for the ages” I do not ever want to question my equipment... (read more)

6. Are you searching for these Mizuno JPX825 clubs?
October 13, 2014

I am looking for a new used set of mizuno irons. I currently play the Mizuno MP-59 Irons and have a low penetrating ball flight. I would you recommend getting the cheap Mizuno JPX825 Irons? I must say the JPX line looks great!  It is great to see Mizuno make a commitment to that sector of the iron market. Do you intend on staying within it?  Has it met corporate milestones in terms of sales to ensure that consumers have the JPX as an option or will we see it disappear faster than the latest Bettinardi/ Mizuon collaboration which I thought was fantastic! I am currently playing t... (read more)

7. Titleist Vokey Wedges from Bob Vokey
October 12, 2014

That ought to be the job title listed on Bob Vokey's business card. The Titleist club designer has spent decades fine-tuning wedges to help tour pros and average golfers alike, a task that never seems to end. As with his other designs, Vokey worked in consultation with tour players, leaning on the like of Adam Scott, Steve Stricker and Jason Dufner. The trio helped offer feedback on bounce and grind options; the Vokey SM5 line is available in 21 different loft/bounce/grind combinations and six "tour-inspired" sole grinds. October 10, 2014

The Big Bertha brand name is synonymous with innovation, technology and performance leadership. Callaway Golf Company announced a new driver for the 2014 season, Callaway Big Bertha Alpha Driver Australia. It is the first driver to enable independent adjustments of four significant performance characteristics to promote distance: loft, lie, Center of Gravity (draw) bias, and - most innovatively - Center of Gravity height. For the first time ever, the Gravity Core lets you adjust unwanted spin independently of launch angle, so you get completely optimized ball flights and longer distance. Yo... (read more)

9. Mizuno MP-59 Irons offer the kind of control
October 10, 2014

So I just got my Mizuno MP-59 Irons in the other day, let me first say I did a lot of research before buying and have never even owned Mizuno anything in my life and actually wanted the AP2′s to win the contest, but these things blew everything away!!!! I was astonished. I’ll admit I shyed away from the MP59′s because of the titanium insert. I was very happy with, and felt the insert would take away from the performance. I was oh so wrong. The MP59′s are what I would consider to be slightly more forgiving Mizuno MP-53 irons that interact with the turf even better. ... (read more)

11. The latest Titleist AP2 714 irons are preferred by better players
October 07, 2014

In the Titleist AP2 714, Titleist accomplishes optimal flight control through the set in a number of ways. Let’s start by taking a look at trajectory control. You’re likely familiar with the concept of flighted shafts. The 714 set is also a bit stronger than the cheap Mizuno JPX825 Irons. I recently played a set with a "W" and found it to be almost exactly the right club for 115 yards, at a nice launch for a tight pin, where the wedge could produce a more penetrating shot for the 120-130 yard distance, or when playing into the wind. The standard shafts in the AP2 71... (read more)

12. Taylormade R11 irons is a nice choice
October 07, 2014

I'm a shade under a 9 handicap. Good driving sets up my game for good scoring. The resulting cheap Taylormade R11 Irons is a marriage of the Burner and Tour Preferred lines. I'm not a very high-ball hitter and prefer lighter weight shafts, but standard swing weight irons. I can effectively play 'off-the-rack' setups out of the box as they're very close to my actual specs. I like the progressive variable-thickness design that features thinner faces in the long irons (to increase ball speed) and thicker faces in the short irons to promote control. This is a nice choice for those who r... (read more)

14. Ping's G30 irons compare to G25 irons
September 25, 2014

I have played with Ping G25 driver, irons and 30 irons and loved them. The G25s are awesome when it comes to hitting greens. I seem to lose distance with the longer irons but my dispersion pattern is very good. As senior golfer I love the weight of the shafts. Ping G30 irons - which form part of Ping's new G30 range of woods, hybrids and irons - are designed to offer increased distance, forgiveness and consistency. It gets shorter from 4-iron through to lob wedge, with progressive offset making long irons more forgiving and shorter clubs easier to control. The G30 irons boast an undercut... (read more)

16. Rose and Johnson are impressed with TaylorMade RocketBladez
September 24, 2014

TaylorMade have unveiled their new TaylorMade RocketBladez irons, and Staff Players Dustin Johnson and Justin Rose were impressed with how far they flew. American Johnson, famed for his long hitting, was so surprised by the performance of the irons that he had to double check with the TaylorMade technician that he could legally play them. Ryder Cup hero Rose noted how he was recording 3-iron distance, but on a considerably higher ball flight. The game-improver TaylorMade RocketBladez can offer sensational distance by using an enhanced Speed Pocket behind the face. Golfers can expect dampe... (read more)

17. Ping G25 hybrid work for golfers of any ability level
September 23, 2014

I just bought a Ping g25 hybrid today. 20*, stiff shaft. This is a great club. I had the 2011 Adams Pro 20* model. It was good but not as forgiving. It gives same ball flight, its penetrating with a slight draw. It is very perfect for me. Each of the new G25 hybrid Ping, which are available is 17, 20, 23, 27 and 31 degrees, has a center of gravity that helps to create the ideal ball flight. In the low-lofted hybrids, the CG is positioned low and deep to help golfers launch the ball higher and with more spin than their iron equivalents, resulting in more playability and a greater carry dista... September 21, 2014

Thankfully,  equipment has come a long way. Today’s golfer can choose from a vast array of irons based on his preferences for size, appearance and feel, as well as his ball-striking ability. 21. Taylormade Tour Preferred MB 2014 Is Super Forgiving
September 18, 2014

I've had my Taylormade Tour Preferred MB 2014 for 3 rounds now. I must say, these are by far the best irons I have owned. The first thing I did with these irons was check the lofts, lies, and legths. And the good news is they were all spot on perfect, which is rare. I am very happy that TaylorMade has once again built a forged iron because these MB's feel like butter on a well struck shot! The bottom line for me is that these are a beautiful set of irons. I played 300's for many years because they were a great feeling iron. So easy to change trajectory with these irons as compared to my Ca... (read more)

22. Tips to Hit 3 and 5 Fairway Woods Correctly
September 17, 2014

Fairway woods can be utilized both off the tee and off the fairway when faced with a long approach shot into a green. Many players find striking a PING G15 Fairway Wood off the tee easier than the Ping G15 Driver but much more technically demanding than an iron when hit from the fairway. Both fairway wood shots require similar techniques with only a few alterations and they are well worth learning as accuracy off the tee and distance from the fairway are crucial for long lasting success on the course. The key to playing a great fairway wood shot is to understand where the club arc bottoms ... (read more)
