1. Pneumatic Jet Fan - Air Powered jet Fan can Work as a Blower and as an Exhauster!
September 05, 2017

When we are talking about maximum safety at the places like car parks and basements, the very first thing that comes to mind is assigning the best ventilation system. These places are large as far as the area is concerned and they are also the enclosed areas where the trapped air needs to be ventilated in proper manner. Due to this reason, vents were used in the past. But those vents were not able to provide ample amount of ventilation for these places. It’s the modern day’s technology that has offered us a great chance to use the pneumatic jet fan at these places eased the problem to a huge e... (read more)

2. High Powered Air Driven Fan - An Air Powered Jet Fan Also Works as an Exhauster or Blower!
June 13, 2017

The demand for High powered air drive fan is high these days. These are considered as the most powerful and efficient fans which are frequently used at the basements or car parks in order to resume proper ventilation at this place. These fans can also be used as the other underground and enclosed places where proper ventilation is needed. However, the air powered jet fan comes with the highest level of thrust and this makes such fan a great choice for many industries. Without the use of ducts, these fans can easily extract and ventilate the smoke while eliminating the chances for odd situation... (read more)

3. How to Ventilate Buildings
November 08, 2013

Power roof fans of the type manufactured by CB Fan Co. are very similar in basic design to the wall fans. Size and capacity closely parallel the wall fans. One of the most popular PRVs is the upblast exhauster. This unit utilizes air velocity to expel rain or snow that may try to penetrate into the structure. When the unit is not in service, butterfly dampers effectively seal the opening against the weather. Because of the straight through air flow design, this is the most effective and efficient PRV available. CB Fan Co.'s hooded PRV design is similar to the upblast PRV. Instead of butterfly ... 5. Ventilation of Buildings
November 07, 2013

Wall exhauster fans are available in a wide range of sizes and capacities. Chicago Blower has models with blade diameters from 7" to 84". Capacity ranges from 250 cubic feet per minute (CFM) to approximately 100,000 CFM from a single fan. Fans of this type are quite efficient, dependable and require relatively little maintenance. Minor disadvantages may relate to their wall location. This location may result in interference with operations of the building, may cause damage to the fan itself or it may be a possible disturbance to personnel working in the proximity of the fan. Power roof ve... (read more)

7. Fan Blower Selection
October 25, 2013

The duct vaneaxial fan offers a broad performance range and good pressure capability at high static efficiency. It also offers the benefit of placing the bearings, shaft and drives on the negative pressure side of the propeller. This setup draws ambient air across those components during operation and discharges it into the hot moist air. This fan also can be provided with a shaft seal to further isolate the components or high temperature construction for operation up to 500 deg. F (260 deg C). For higher pressure ranges, a backward curved centrifugal fan often is selected. This design of... (read more)

8. Industrial Power Roof Ventilator PRV
October 25, 2013

Reliable ventilation system prevents smoke logging, allows people to escape quickly, minimizes damages to property and contents and enables firemen to attack the fire without hindrance. Such power roof ventilators have the added advantage of providing normal day to day ventilation and in many cases can also be fitted with duct work for use in multi storey buildings. Natural ventilation depends on winds outside and convection currents inside a building. Winds raise air pressure slightly on the windward side of a building and lower it slightly on the lee side. The pressure difference promot... (read more)

10. Power Roof Fan Ventilators
October 21, 2013

Building ventilation requires that there be a movement or circulation of the air within the space and that the temperature and humidity be maintained within a range that allows adequate evaporation of perspiration from the skin. It was formerly believed that the discomfort, headache, and lethargy commonly associated with poor ventilation were caused entirely by the increase in the amount of carbon dioxide and the decrease in the oxygen content of the air. There is evidence to show, however, that the deleterious effects result largely from interference with the heat-regulating mechanism of the ... (read more)

11. Selecting Fans for Building Ventilation
October 17, 2013

Ventilator performance tables are based on standard air. Selecting a fan using standard tables will provide a fan capable of moving the required flow and developing the required pressure. As the temperature increases and humidity decreases, system resistance and the pressure developed by the fan will decrease at the same rate, and a constant flow rate is maintained. Altitude reduces the air pressure and density along with the amount of moisture the air can carry. The density and moisture values in table 1 must be divided by the correction factors in table 4 to determine the actual density and ... (read more)

13. Roof Ventilator and Fan
October 17, 2013

Normally ventilation depends on winds outside and convection currents inside a building. Winds raise air pressure slightly on the windward side of a building and lower it slightly on the lee side. The pressure difference promotes circulation into the building on the windward side and out of it on the lee side. Convection currents are caused by the sinking of colder and therefore heavier air, which displaces the warmer air. A building may have a roof ventilator to allow the rising warm air to escape. If there is an opening to the outside at the bottom of the building, fresh, cool air will be dr... (read more)

19. Commerical Ventilation
August 15, 2013

As with all fan systems, it is important to remember that only available air can be exhausted. Fans cannot operate in a vacuum. If the exhausted air cannot be replaced in the facility, fan performance will drop off and production will suffer. The production facility must have makeup air for every cubic foot that is exhausted from the facility. The makeup air can be provided through general ventilation systems or as part of a heating, ventilating and air conditioning system. Industrial fan performance tables are based on standard air.
