1. What is in Store with Golf Equipment Improvements in 2015?
January 01, 2015

By all indications it appears like advances in golf clubs for 2015 will appear a lot like those of 2014, particularly with golf drivers. Over the last year there have been at least 15 adjustable drivers which have been introduced, and that also looks like the theme as we progress. So let's take a look at the industry of adjustable drivers and what they can and cannot do for these ordinary amateur golfers. Adjustable drivers are created to be able to manually alter the golf club's loft, lie as well as face angle with a trouble-free resetting found on the driver head. An alteration will imp... 4. My Favourite Ping G30 driver Is Forgiving
October 14, 2014

Before I let loose on the performance benefits of the Ping G30 driver, it's only right I begin by starting on the looks - which actually become a performance enhancement. The G30 driver's new patented Turbulator Technology - which went through extensive wind tunnel testing - reduces aerodynamic drag by significantly delaying airflow separation, maintaining attached airflow around the clubhead as it approaches impact, leading to more speed. When it comes to sound, the G30 is one of the nicest sounding drivers on the market today. From what I was informed through PING's internal testing, ... (read more)

5. Callaway X2 Hot driver Vs. Taylormade SLDR driver
October 14, 2014

Callaway has five different drivers on the market for 2014 — the Big Bertha, Big Bertha Alpha, X2 Hot, X2 Hot Pro and FT OptiForce 460. They’re each good options for their target player, but the Callaway X2 Hot driver will likely be the best option for golfers across the board. The HyperSpeed face of the X2 Hot is 10 percent larger than its predecessor, leading to more consistent ball speeds across the face. It’s also Callaway’s lightest driver, with a 46-inch stock shaft and a head weight of 194 grams. That gives slower swing speed players the potential for more club head speed. The X2 ... (read more)

6. Why I love forgiving, game-improving Ping G25 Driver?
October 14, 2014

Unlike in year’s past, this year’s scores were entirely based on the performance of each driver head, removing the subjective categories of looks, sound and feel from the equation. The cheap Ping G25 Driver has a CG that is not just the lowest and most rearward of any Ping driver, but quite possibly the lowest and most rearward of any driver in golf. It’s available in lofts of 8.5, 9.5, 10.5 and 12 degrees, and comes stock with Ping’s counterbalanced TFC 189D shaft. That allows the G25 to be built to a stock length of 45.75 inches and carry a stock swing weight of D... (read more)

7. Callaway X2 Hot is a very forgiving driver
October 14, 2014

The new Callaway X2 Hot is about ball speed. This driver is highlighted by Callaway’s Hyper Speed Face made of 455 Carpenter steel. If you're unfamiliar with the OptiFit hosel it helps you optimise better launch conditions by adjusting loft and lie independently. The loft range varies from 2 degrees up to 1 degree down from the stock loft of each driver. Lofts for X2 Hot are 9, 10.5 and 13.5 HT. The face of the X2 Hot driver is 4 percent larger than the face of the previous Callaway X Hot driver, without adding any weight. Tour Green has been more popular than Tour Blue on the PGA Tou... 8. Are you searching for these Mizuno JPX825 clubs?
October 13, 2014

I am looking for a new used set of mizuno irons. I currently play the Mizuno MP-59 Irons and have a low penetrating ball flight. I would you recommend getting the cheap Mizuno JPX825 Irons? I must say the JPX line looks great!  It is great to see Mizuno make a commitment to that sector of the iron market. Do you intend on staying within it?  Has it met corporate milestones in terms of sales to ensure that consumers have the JPX as an option or will we see it disappear faster than the latest Bettinardi/ Mizuon collaboration which I thought was fantastic! I am currently playing t... (read more)

9. Tell you How to hit a draw
October 13, 2014

The ball flight will begin in the direction that the face is pointing at impact and curve away from the path of the club. So, in order for a right-handed golfer to move the ball from right to left — the goal of most golfers — the face angle at impact must be between the path of the TaylorMade R1 Driver and the target line. The path is moving from inside to outside at 4.5 degrees. The face at impact is 1.2 degrees right of the target, but 3.3 degrees left of the path. Now, examine the ball flight motion in the upper left screen. This shot starts out to the right and curves back ... (read more)

17. Callaway X2 Hot Driver Compare X hot driver
October 10, 2014

I have a 9 handicap and have always played a senior mens club/shaft as a lot of low handicap women do. I loved my original Big Bertha and ran to test/buy the first day it was out. I hit the Callaway X2 Hot Driver 30 yards past my senior mens Big Bertha. Something about the club was not right so I went to a Callaway demo day just this morning and had the Callaway rep test my club against others. I was right, there was a problem with the club and Callaway took it back. But...he asked me to humor him and hit the womens X Hot 2 before I ordered a replacement. 18. The Forgiving Callaway X Hot Driver reviews
October 10, 2014

Many have said that Callaway has been playing catchup for the last few years, and though they are not quite at the level of some manufactures, they are catching up fast. The Callaway X Hot Driver reviews gave me 20 yards more without loss of accuracy. The X-Hot is a great driver for the High-Handicapper and one that will help you in many different ways. 19. TaylorMade SLDR driver Vs. TaylorMade R1 driver
October 10, 2014

TaylorMade are promoting the Taylormade SLDR driver with the line of 'more distance through more loft' as the head creates much less backspin than other models. The key thing is that I was able to achieve this with a 10.5° driver compared to my current 9.5° driver. Although it is showing a gain of only 3 yards in total distance, the average distance shown with the SLDR hides a couple of 280 yard shots so the theory does work in practice. Using a 9.5° driver adjusted up a degree to 10.5° slightly closes the face to make it more forgiving than the 9.5° or even the standard 10.5° model for me.... (read more)

21. Awesome Callaway X2 Hot Driver Review
October 09, 2014

I have been playing Callaway clubs for 20 years. Two years ago, I bought a complete set of X Hots. I love the irons, but this new X2 Hot Driver goes way beyond my X Hot Pro Driver. 22. My favorite Taylormade Rocketbladez Irons Review
October 09, 2014

I was looking for something new that suited my eye and worked with Taylormade Rocketbladez Irons. I started using it earlier this year and have become really attached to it because it's beautiful and I played big role in the design process. It's the kind of club that if you walked into a pro shop, you'd probably say "Oh, that's beautiful. I have to have that." With this particular irons, I was looking for a sweet spot in terms of the feel and face. I think sometimes when you put tons of technology in a irons, it's great for the amateur.
