Drought-stricken Mozambique will start building its first large scale solar plant in early 2017, after Scatec Solar, which owns several such plants in Africa, signed an $80 million deal to sell electricity to the state-owned energy company for 25 years.

Baghdad province is one of the smallest in Iraq but it is home to more of the country's population than any other. It is also where, month after month, more people are killed by acts of terrorism or armed violence than anywhere else.

A U.S. judge in Washington ruled Thursday that the Obama administration has been improperly funding a part of his national health care program that is aimed at helping low-income people pay for their doctors' visits and other health care costs.

A California university paid a private company to remove references from the Internet of an incident in which a campus police officer pepper sprayed students, a newspaper reported.
The Sacramento Bee newspaper reports that the University of California, Davis paid a consulting firm $175,000 to get rid of online search results related to a clash with student protesters on the campus in 2011.
