August 05, 2017
Innovative, through the eyelid glaucoma diagnostic Diaton Tonometer is featured at FIME Show International . Non-contact Diaton tonometer is clinically proven to evaluate intraocular (eye) pressure for glaucoma with more accuracy versus contact or corneal tonometers as those IOP’s need to be adjusted for either central corneal thickness and or other corneal abnormalities.
Diaton Tonometer (www.diaton.com ) is the only non-corneal tonometer on the market – it provides reliable measurements and makes it possible to diagnose glaucoma in its early stages, allowing to devise an app... (read more)

May 24, 2017
Team Diaton Tonometer showcases its innovative, "through the eyelid" glaucoma diagnostic tonometry technology at ASCRS ASOA meeting in Los Angeles, CA. Eye Surgeons find new ways to implement this non-invasive, cornea independent tonometry technology in cases where no other corneal tonometry devices can get an accurate intraocular pressure (IOP) results. Diaton obtains the IOP measurement through the upper eyelid, overlaying tarsus and sclera, not the cornea - making the technology unique and cornea independent. 11. January is Glaucoma Awareness Month - Team Diaton Supports the Mission to Detect Glaucoma and Preve
January 05, 2016
Team Diaton tonometer and BiCOM Inc supports January Glaucoma Awareness Month. Over 3 million Americans, and over 60 million people worldwide, have glaucoma. Experts estimate that half of them don’t know they have it. Combined with our aging population, we can see an epidemic of blindness looming if we don’t raise awareness about the importance of regular eye examinations to preserve vision. The World Health Organization estimates that 4.5 million people worldwide are blind due to glaucoma.

12. How do Eye Doctors Test the Pressure of the Eye?
July 19, 2013
Optometrists and ophthalmologists are trained to perform various procedures to examine your eyes. These tests range from simple ones, like having to read letters from an eye chart, to more complex tests which involve using professional technological tools, which help see the inside structure of the eye.
One procedure that is used to examine the eye is called tonometry, this is a method used to determine the pressure of the eyes. The method/ test is used to screen for glaucoma, glaucoma is usually detected in people over the age of 40. Regular eye exams can detect glaucoma in its early s... (read more)

15. How to Reduce Eye Pressure With Medicine
August 03, 2012
Step 1 Make an appointment with the eye doctor. Eye pressure, technically called intraocular pressure (IOP), cannot be evaluated and medication cannot be properly prescribed without an eye doctor. Make a follow-up appointment at the conclusion of the initial exam (see Step 2).
Step 2 Take a tonometry test. This test measures IOP, and will indicate the risk factor for glaucoma. IOP may change, however, at different times of day, so multiple tests may be required to reveal fluctuation (another glaucoma risk) and range.
Step 3 Request an examination of the optic nerve with an ophthal... (read more)

16. For Your Eyes Only: Comprehensive Eye Examinations
January 17, 2012
When you start seeing double, reading the wrong words, or looking at things with blurred vision, then you need to visit your eye doctor and undergo a comprehensive eye examination. This is a series of tests that optometrists and ophthalmologists use to assess your visual acuity. The tests might include a tonometry test, a slit-lamp test, a cover test, and a visual acuity examination.
A tonometry test is basically done to check if you have glaucoma. The test involves the use of a small machine- the tonometry machine- to measure the eye's fluid pressure (Intraocular Pressure). If the pressu... (read more)
