1. Indoor banner stands: the benefits of using banner advertising
April 09, 2017

Even though we live in a technological era, banner ads are still useful when it comes to building brand recognition. As a matter of fact, they have been around as long as the consumer Internet has. Banner ads lift awareness and get your business noticed. Display advertising, whether simple or not, has many benefits over other marketing channels, like effective targeting and faster brand building. People trust them, placing as much confidence in banner ads as much as they do in TV ads. If you are participating at an event to promote your products or services, contemplate the idea of purchasing... (read more)

2. How To Make A Trade Show That Attracts Clients
March 28, 2016

LAST UPDATED ON: December 6, 2018 Let us assume that you are way too organized that you are able to spare enough time, perhaps a month or so, before a trade show exhibit. With this, you have the luxury to create graphic designs and decide on the kind of displays you want to put up. Any printing company would ask you things when you want them to create trade show displays for you. In most cases, you would be required to submit a map of the trade show center as well as the location of your booth. This is important to distinguish where people would mostly pass by, or to see the probabi... (read more)

3. Trade Show Participation - A Big Boost to Marketing
April 11, 2015

Many business-owners consider participation in trade fairs to be unaffordable due to the costs involved in booking space and setting up trade show booths, developing attractive displays, training staff, to & fro travel, boarding and lodging, and more. While acknowledging that there is a cost to taking part in trade shows the many benefits that accrue from such participation more than outweigh the costs. Take a quick look at what you can achieve at a trade show. Opportunity to Generate Business Leads That Are Specific and Lucrative Each and every trade show that you participate... (read more)

4. 1 Reason Not to Buy Trade Show Displays and 2 Reasons Why You Must
January 14, 2015

LAST UPDATED ON: July 13, 2018 I don't know specifically what you're asking here, but let me give you some reasons why should, and maybe some reasons why you shouldn't. Why You Shouldn't Get One Let me start with a reason you shouldn't. This may or may not apply to you and your firm, but if it is the case, I'd say, "don't buy one, at least not now." Have you spent time researching your market? Do you know who your target audience is? Have you tested various headlines and copy in your advertising? Have you used several venues to track response rates to your variable ads... (read more)

5. How to Market Your Brand in Trade Show Events for Beginners
December 16, 2014

LAST UPDATED ON: June 5, 2018 There is a lot we can say to those who've never attended a trade show or purchased trade show graphics including roll up banner stands, x-banners, booth backdrops, literature displays, or table runners, but the foundation you lay before attending a trade show is the most important thing you need to focus on. The Message is the Medium As with any marketing and advertising, the message is the medium. What does this mean? This means that to successfully attract your target audience, you need to get inside their heads, find out what makes them laugh,... (read more)

6. How to Set Up Pop Up Trade Show Displays and Fabric Graphics Installation
December 08, 2014

Attaching Dye Sublimated Fabric Banners on Display Frames There are several ways that printed fabric banners are attached to trade show display frames; I'll list them below. One method is the pullover method where the dye sub fabric graphic is pulled over top of the frame like a sock. It is sewn together on the top, and sometimes will have another rectangle of fabric added on the top if it is going over a frame with a rectangular foot print. This method is often used with "serpentine" displays and also on trade show booth tables/kiosks. The advantage to this style of display is ... (read more)

7. Planning a Purchase for Trade Show Displays
October 08, 2014

LAST UPDATED ON: April 18, 2018 Of course, you'll need literature stands, display racks or cabinets if you're a retailer or product distributor or manufacturer, depending on the type of show you're attending. Tables with table runners are also popular with some exhibitors depending on their product or service. On the aisles it's a good idea to have roll-up banners (a.ka. pull-up or retractable banners) or similar banner stands with an enticing reason for the show goers to step into your booth. Aside from that, how's your marketing and sales thrust working for you. If you don't have... (read more)

8. Which Colors To Use in Trade Show Graphic Displays
June 12, 2014

LAST UPDATED ON: January 23, 2018 I'm going to give you my opinion, as it is gained by observation of signs and graphics for over 20 years. Disclaimer: There is no scientific evidence backing up my conclusions unless coincidentally agreeing with me. First and foremost, the message is and will always be the medium. People are generally still fairly literate who are attending the trade show you're exhibiting your goods or services at, so they're scanning as they walk, and while color is important, what they read is what will bring them into your booth, not shiny stuff, unless you're sell... 9. Better for Trade Shows - Panel System Or Pop Up Display
May 11, 2014

LAST UPDATED ON: January 14, 2018 If you're going to be attending several trade shows a year, and you want to vary your photos with each show, the panel system might be a good way to go. However, in our opinion, it is not the most attractive option when it comes to trade show booths and displays. It's not butt ugly either. Installation: Panel System While it is a fairly simple system, the panel system is more difficult to erect and install than a plain pop up banner system. The frame has to be erected, which is not difficult, then the heavy fabric panels attached using mag... (read more)

10. What Type of Trade Show Booth Fits Your Business
April 22, 2014

LAST UPDATED ON: December 17, 2017 What are your goals at this trade show? Good Advertising and Marketing Methods Before launching into the type of trade show display you need, I always first caution our clients to have done proper marketing and advertising before you leap into spending $25,000 to $50,000 (plus or minus) on a trade show. The average cost for a 10' x 20' trade show booth, not including travel, hotel, food, etc., is around $10K. Larger areas, of course, cost more both in terms of floor space and display graphics. What do I mean by having done proper mark... (read more)

11. Trade Show Display - Considerations To Look At When Buying One
February 16, 2014

LAST UPDATED ON: November 30, 2017 There are literally thousands of options when you start to look for a trade show display and all the accompanying displays and materials. Our first question to you would be - what is the booth size and location you have chosen? Trade Show Booth Size and Display Location Hypothetically, let's say you have a fairly sizeable budget for this upcoming trade show or convention, and you've already reserved a large corner booth near the main entrance. First off, your location is excellent, as show goers will be fresh as they enter the convention ... (read more)

12. Why use fabric for your trade show display
January 27, 2014

The advertising industry offers more and more options to choose from. This is why those who want to be successful with their trade show display should carefully study their options and choose something that will not only help them stand out, but also to convince potential customers to choose them over their competitors. During a trade show, graphics play a very important part, which is why you need to make sure you will not disappoint your audience and be left unnoticed. Graphics can capture an audience and draw it to you and today’s advertising industry offers people a new way of making them... (read more)

13. Purchase or Rent Trade Show Booth and Display?
January 20, 2014

LAST UPDATED ON: May 3, 2019 Question: We were wondering if it is better to purchase a trade show booth exhibit or if we should rent one instead? We would ask, in response to your question, "What is your objective?" Or maybe "What is your long term objective?" Are you planning to use this one time? Is this an experiment? If you've never exhibited at a trade show in the past, but you'd like to give it a whirl, then maybe you'll want to try a less expensive route by purchasing graphics only for a booth, rather than the whole enchilada. However, if you've already got a show ... (read more)

14. How to Attach Trade Show Booth Graphics to Pop Up Frames, Plus, Front Runner Fabrics
January 16, 2014

LAST UPDATED ON: May 3, 2019 Question: I'm new to trade show booths and graphics, and I was curious as to how the fabric display graphics attach to the pop up frames? There are three main ways that dye sublimation printed fabric graphics attach to pop up displays. The first way, and probably the most common way, is for the fabric to have loop Velcro tabs sewn on the back side of the graphic around the edges of the fabric. Then the frame will have adhesive tabs that match up to the tabs on the fabric, and after you've popped up the frame you simply match the tabs to each o... (read more)

15. What to Know When Purchasing Trade Show Booth and Display
January 07, 2014

LAST UPDATED ON: April 25, 2019 Question: We're considering promoting our company this fall at a trade show. What are the key issues we need to consider in designing our trade show booth? That is a loaded question! There are so many facets to planning to promote your company at a trade show, and the trade show booth and graphics are only a portion of what you need to consider in your preparations. If your company already has brand recognition, which is unlikely unless you're working for a major consumer products company, your marketing department needs to know what is working... (read more)

16. How You Can Budget For Trade Show Booths
December 25, 2013

LAST UPDATED ON: April 24, 2019 Question: We're budgeting for a trade show coming up in November, and we'd like to know what percentage of our trade show budget should be spent on the trade show booth and graphics, exclusive of collateral materials. This is a good question, and one which I think is answered best by those who study the cost of the various items that comprise a company's trade show budget on the average. There is a presentation available that provides some average costs for attending a trade show on the average, so you can get an idea of what you'll be spending on i... (read more)

17. Is Dye Sublimation Fabric Printing Suitable for Trade Show Banner Displays
December 04, 2013

Question: We are designing a trade show booth, and would like to know if dye sublimation banners would be suitable for the boot backdrop? Answer: Yes. Not only would it be suitable, it would be the most attractive backdrop, in our opinion, that money can buy. And not that much money any more, as the price of dye sublimation printed fabric comes down to more affordable levels. It is our belief that if you use dye sublimate fabric banners, displays, backdrops, whatever you can do with dye sub printed fabrics, that your product or service will have an underlying quality that will be sub... 18. Watch: non-barfy video of google's ‘projectglass' specs in action
November 27, 2013

Okay, if you make this Google ‘Project Glass' videofull screen and high-def, it might be a little barfy, so don't say we at Techland never pass alongfriendly motion-sickness disclaimers. But yes, if you click"play" on the video up top, you too can watch what itlooks like to video yourself jumping and flipping on a trampoline while wearing glasses that apparently somehow boltto your skull. I don't know what's more impressive: theeye-level video view, or the fact that this obvious Cirque duSoleil standby doesn't totally biff it. Google software engineer and Project Glass tech lead... 19. The Cons of a Trade Show Booth Rental
November 13, 2013

Many of our clients find the advantages of a trade show booth rental quite compelling. If your company attends just a few shows per year or one large show, you can benefit from the cost savings of a rental exhibit. No capital costs, no depreciation expense, no storage fees, and no repair costs are just a few of the benefits. In addition, this reuse of exhibit material is an ecologically sound choice in these green-friendly times. However, sometimes renting is not the best choice for some exhibitors. October 30, 2013

LAST UPDATED ON: April 16, 2019 What are the basic styles of fabric construction for trade show exhibit booths? That is a very broad question. Kind of like how do you build a house? But let's give it a whirl. Most fabrics that are used for trade show displays are a polyester knit fabric with a small amount of a stretchy material called lycra in it to promote stretch-ability. Why would you want stretchy polyester fabric for your trade show display? First, it does print very nicely when using the dye sublimation printing method. Dye sublimation is the transfer of ink from a... (read more)
