TBLAZZ Biography Haitian born Jeff Calixte, also known as Tblazz, has been dropping lyrical melodies since his youthful days in Vie bou, a city south of Port Au Prince in Haiti. The inspirational message he is delivering through his music is: “prend courage” or “keep your head up”. Not only is Jeff Calixte a singer and songwriter, he is also a talented actor and producer. His sound will resonate in your head, penetrate your mind and make your heart melt. He was influenced by church groups and musical raga groups such as King Posse and Original Rap Staff. His unique style of blending Hip Hop and Classic Reggae is an essential part of what he represents as an artist. On leaving Haiti, his love for rap grew significantly. Upon migrating to Florida, he quickly created a musical group with his friends, in order to freestyle and better perfect his craft, which was just the first step in mapping out a future in the music industry. At the age of 18, Jeff Calixte met DJ Stacks and this dynamic duo, through collaboration, began recording. This created the perfect opportunity to take his song writing abilities to the next level. After spending 8 years in Florida, this young performer set his sights on Toronto, Canada and is quickly making a name for himself currently in Toronto’s music scene. His ability to express every word in such a poetic way created an interest in his singing in English and Rapping in French Creole, where he is truly talented. From writing his own songs to producing, he is quickly gaining recognition in the community as well as the music industry. By showing his determination, charismatic personality, and his presence and energy on stage he is undeniably respected among his peers. He has worked with some of the biggest names in Toronto; Jerry. M from Boom recording studio, Ashton Price from Morph productions, Lonnie from Robeter productions and also one of the best Mastering Engineers, Phil Demetro, who is behind the new Drake hit single (Brand New). A major move for Tblazz, has been acquiring his own record label, STR8HITS Records. A forum not only for himself, but also to locate, promote, and produce other talented performers. This is only the beginning for him as the future shines bright for this Haitian born singer, actor, writer and producer. Following the release of his single “Mother, Mother” in May 2010, Tblazz is back in the recording studio working on his next single, “I Make You Hot” for 2012.
