Memorable Quote 1: Your voice speaks volumes about you - what is yours saying?
Memorable Quote 2: If you are not nervous in public speaking, then I am.
Author Comment / Biography: The Voice Lady, Nancy Daniels, has been involved in voice training since 1977. A graduate of Gettysburg College with a BA in music, she discovered the techniques for improving the sound of the speaking voice while in graduate school at American University in Washington, D.C.
Prior to her move to Canada in 1981, Nancy worked for G. Schirmer, ICM Artists and the Aspen Music Festival where she was director of public relations. Aware that her own speaking voice was a predominant factor in obtaining employment with such reputable firms, she believes that a dynamic and mature-sounding voice is a fantastic asset, increasing one’s confidence and self-esteem.
While in Canada, Nancy taught Voice and Public Speaking at the University of Western Ontario’s Graduate School of Journalism, The Ivey School of Business, and St. Peter’s Seminary. In 1989 she started her own company, Communication Dynamics, for businesses and the general public.
Upon returning to the States in 1997, she opened her business under the name Voice Dynamic and from 1999 to 2003 continued to teach Voice & Diction and Public Speaking at the college level.
In addition to her guest speaking engagements, Nancy holds private, group, and corporate workshops throughout the United States and Canada.
For those unable to work with her directly, she is now offering Voicing It!, the only voice improvement course on video covering The Voice Dynamic Approach.

August 23, 2013
Excessive nasality or too much nose in speaking definitely has a negative impact on your listeners. A whiny voice can be shrill and is much akin to nails on a blackboard. August 14, 2013
I had a wonderful experience recently as the proud parent of an officer in training in the United States Army. 137 young men and women were given their branching orders. August 06, 2013
One of the most difficult problems for the middle-aged teacher is having enough voice to get through the day. While it most often effects those in their 40’s and 50’s, I am seeing it in younger teachers as well. Described as chronic hoarseness, a persistent sore throat, or even loss of voice, voca...

76. How to Select an Informative Topic for Your Presentation
August 06, 2013
When I hold a 2-day workshop and explain to the group that their assignment is to give a 4-minute informative presentation, they often look at me and question what to talk about. They also tend to think that 4 minutes is a great length of time. When it comes to public speaking, 4 minutes is extrem...

77. Sounding Like a Teenager Does Not Sound Credible
August 06, 2013
The other day I was listening to the radio and the host was interviewing a woman who has written a New York Times bestseller about men. 78. Speaking Like a Valley Girl Does Not Speak Well of You
July 23, 2013
If you are looking to make the best impression possible, sounding like a Valley Girl is not helping that objective. One of the most frustrating things in the process of communicating with others is the inability to hear or understand the person who is talking.
