Contributory aged parent (temporary) visa (subclass 884) allows the parent of the Australian citizen who is a permanent residence or eligible New Zealand citizen to live in Australia temporary. To be eligible for contributory aged parent (temporary) visa (subclass 884), you must a child who is Australian citizen who is a permanent residence and who is old to receive an Australian aged pension. Contributory aged parent (temporary) visa (subclass 884) costs AUD 32,900. Contributory aged parent (temporary) visa (subclass 884) is a temporary visa that allows parent to stay in Australia for 2 years only. You might not be eligible for contributory aged parent (temporary) visa (subclass 884) if you had a visa that was refused or cancelled while you were in Australia. You are not allowed to re-apply contributory aged parent (temporary) visa (subclass 884) if the visa time elapses. You must be in Australia when making an application and when the decision about the visa is made. You can apply for subclass 864 which is a permanent visa while holding this visa if you want to stay permanently in Australia. You need to be sponsored for you to be eligible to contributory aged parent (temporary) visa (subclass 884). Your sponsored must be 18 years and above. A sponsor is allowed to sponsor one or more parents. A sponsor must be able to cater for financial and any other responsibilities. You must of the age eligible for Australian age pension, the minimum age may be more than 65 years though it depends on the place you were born. You must meet the balance of family test where half of your children must be living in Australia more than any other country. It is a must you meet certain health and character requirements listed. Make sure that you do not have outstanding debt that belongs to Australian government.
