Carlos Santana is a name that finds resonance with many music lovers. Born in Mexico at Autlán de Navarro, Jalisco on July 20 in the year 1947, he is known for playing guitar. He learned to play violin at a very young age, when he was just five. Influenced by his father who was a professional guitarist, he first played guitar at an age of eight. Jorge happens to be the younger sibling of Carlos. Just like him, even Jorge became a renowned professional guitarist. Carlos in his youth was influenced by Valens heavily. The band Carlos headed became famous in San Francisco due to their mastery in presenting original blend of several music like jazz, rock, African rhythms, blues, salsa, etc. The band was renamed later on. It came to be known as Santana. The personnel of the band changed frequently. This helped Carlos concentrate on being himself. Over the years, he used different types of guitars. In the beginning, he used Gibson guitars. He then moved on to Yamaha and then later returned to Gibson. Since the year 1988, Carlos has been using PRS guitars, which bear his name on them. Interestingly, his guitars feature the rosewood necks for creating special tone. Carlos became the naturalized citizen of America in the year 1965. He had married Deborah for 34 years. She filed for divorce in the year 2007 on October 19, citing differences that cannot be reconciled. Carlos then engaged to Blackman. He proposed her, interestingly, during the concert in Chicago, held at Tinley Park, Ilinois in the year 2010 on July 9. The couple got married at the end of 2010 in the month of December.
