William Higginbotham is the one who programmed the first video game in 1958. The game was called Tennis for two. It wasn’t until 1967 the first video game console came into play. In the year 2005 Sony released PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Portable. The PS3 models had a backup memory drive or a hard disk with storage space starting from 20GB, 40GB, 60GB, 80GB, 120GB and 180GB and multiple USB ports. Movies and games could be stored on this Console. The PS3 is Internet enabled so you can play online games as well. PlayStation Portable or the PSP is a hand held gaming console and has most of the functions of a PS3. The PSP has a large LCD screen, is multimedia interfaced and Internet enabled. The XBOX is a gaming console manufactured by Microsoft. It was released to the general public in America in the year 2001. This Gaming Console was manufactured and released in contention of PlayStation 2. The XBOX was a huge failure. So Microsoft discontinued the manufacturing of XBOX. In 2005 Microsoft released XBOX360. This was an instant hit world over. The XBOX 360 has similar features as the PS3. The XBOX 360 has wireless controls and motion controls, The Red Ring of Fire surrounding the power button lets the user know if the console detects any minor glitch in the software. The Kinetic Sensor Device is a 100% motion controlled; there is no need for a hand held game control anymore. Nintendo is another Gaming Console form Japan and has been around since the 1980s. Nintendo is the third best gaming console in the world and is very user friendly. This gaming Console is for kids.
