MgO board or Magnesium Oxide board is generally made in factories and is a -insulating sheathing board. It is used for various purposes, such as, fascias, ceiling and wall linings, tile backings, soffits and underlayment. More precisely, it is a type of cement that is made from Magnesium Oxide. It is known as MgO board because of its chemical composition of magnesium (Mg) and oxygen (O). It does serve like a sheathing board and is widely used as a fire resistant, mould resistant, mildew, etc. It is appreciated for its strength and ability to bear all kinds of weather. Hence, it is applied as a building material and is environment friendly too. As a building constructing material, this mineral board is available in various kinds of sheet sizes and thicknesses. As far as its manufacturing is concerned, it is made from raw Magnesium and at a room temperature it is found in a solid form. In appearance, it is often compared to aluminium but actually it is a lighter mineral than aluminium. In its raw form Magnesium is usually used as an alloy in airplanes or race cars, etc. In its raw form, Magnesium is flammable but as MgO is acts as fire resistant and is hence, used in fireproofing. These are widely used in schools, buildings, public areas, garages, basements, washrooms, sound studios, pool regions, shopping centres and other places. It is because of this wide application that MgO has evolved as an important component for industrial uses. In addition to this, it is easily available as well. Both in Asia and Australia there are numerous companies that deal with this product. They manufacture, distribute and supply these products to the required companies. One such company is the MgO Corp Board. It is an audited, registered and approved organization from JAS/ANZ. The latter is a leading approval process. MgO Corp Board has certification registration code approval number and logos issued from the proper authorities and thus, it is one of the most trusted names when it comes to MgO and its products. As a usable product, it is completely safe as it is free of radiation and asbestos. Also MgO does not form any kind of organic substances that can harm the humans. The primary raw materials used in it are MgO and MgCl2. It is the combination of these two materials that render the MgO board as waterproof and fireproof. Hence, it is used as a Bushfire protection.
