There is an Indian saying that a man’s fortune lies in the dry leaves scattered unevenly on the ground. The straight forward meaning of this saying is that it is a difficult thing to predict about the future of a person. He may rise from rags to riches which normally seem to be a difficult task. This saying is perfectly matching the story of shri Sudhir Moravekar chairman of Panoramic group who was born as an ordinary person in a middle class Maharashtrian family, but within no time he acquired a place in the forefront of successful Indian businessman. His Panoramic group of hotels showed phenomenal rise across the globe. Two decades ago, even he was not sure about his future, as he was a person who was struggling to meet his ends. He worked on a daily wages basis which was not sufficient for his family and he had done all kinds of odd jobs in order to feed his family. No one cared about him during this period but as soon as he started the business and achieved success in a limited time everybody was curious about him. Now the head of multi-millionaire group, everyone is trying to collect some information about him. Though he is media shy, he had disclosed some personal details about him few years back. Since it is already mentioned by many and is available easily, I will not be mentioning about it. Instead of that I would put some light in to his hospitality business. His rise was not sudden but was in steps. He preferred and started with the hospitality business since he was confident in prospering with it. Initially the hotels were raised and an investment scheme was initiated wherein he raised substantial funds from people on the condition that the investors can utilize the hotel rooms for accommodations without any cost. This idea clicked and that was the beginning of a new era for Panoramic group of companies, which now includes Panoramic Universal Limited (PUL), Pancard clubs limited (PCL) and Panoramic Holidays Limited (PHL). Panoramic Universal Limited manages the hospitality and Information Technology business. Currently the group is the owner of more than twenty hotels and resorts under its brand. They are acquiring more and more hotels and are branding their hotels/resorts under the brand of United-21. They also have a brand “Spices & Sauces” for their restaurant and “Waves” for their lounge bar. They have their hotels and resorts in major tourist places like Shirdi, Pench Goa, Kaziranga, Mysore Alleppey, Kodaikanal, Ooty and Kanha. Apart from business in India, they do have substantial business in United States of America with around five hotels and one each in Thailand and New Zealand. This slow but steady growth of Panoramic group took the group to such a position that presently they have a strong brand name with many hotels and resorts under its name. The owner himself would not have dreamt such a grand success, which will start flourishing even in other countries. While having a chat with him he credits this success to his principles which he followed strictly. The principles to which he adhered since his birth are Hard Work, Honesty and team spirit. The journey to success is not yet over it is learned that Sudhir Moravekar is still in acquisition spree, which will make the group expand since the travel and tourism industry is booming enormously.
