If you are new to diving you should know that so much depends on where you plan to dive that will make the difference on the type of equipment you need or want. For instance, some dive trips will include certain equipment with the price of your dive. You may or may not bring your own equipment but you are going to pay for it either way. So if you are interested enough in diving, invest in some dive equipment in Key Largo that is essential for your dive but not included in a base price. There is an actual order of necessities that you need to purchase for a dive if you are interested in diving on your own however, keep comfort in mind for your first purchase. Nothing can ruin a good dive than your equipment not fitting right or being too cold to stay long under water. You may not necessarily need fins before a dive computer, but it will help you get established in the water and learn some of the finesses of the sport before you invest big money. Speaking of fins, these are probably a standard in a rental package as well but that is not necessarily a good thing. You can never tell how a piece of equipment is going to feel and work with you in the water until you get started. Buying your own fins that are measured specifically for your feet and are flexible enough to your liking, will make your dive more enjoyable. Of course, the first thing that you need to purchase is a mask. If you haven't picked up on it by now, comfort in a dive is your most important asset and buying a mask and fins that fit you perfectly will give you the best dive. You need a significant comfort level under the water and you don't want to jeopardize it with ill-fitting mask or fins. Once you have more dives under your belt, the equipment gets more expensive but more necessary. Obviously, a wet or dry suit will add to your comfort while a dive computer and regulators will help expand your abilities. Try to stay away from the bulky, heavier items and stick with the lightweight accessories as you add to your equipment. At Key Largo Dive Center, we are focused on your diving desires.
