Every single year, thousands of NHS ambulance drivers fly through the streets of our major cities to make sure that multiple casualties are quickly attended to and seen by some of the best doctors in the world. If you had to time it, I reckon that an ambulance could get to an emergency in less than 10 minutes and that is usually down to the high quality of training that is provided for their drivers. Unlike standard cars, ambulances are much larger in size and more difficult to operate. It isnt the same as driving a large van either. Turning circles and general size makes the vehicle far more difficult to run. However, there are many courses available for those that wish to join the NHS as an ambulance/paramedic driver. To join, all you need to do is complete some ambulance driver training and pass the final driver tests. This includes passing a C1 driver training course to allow you to gain the C1 category on your UK driving licence.
