Freedom by Jonathan Franzen Take a look into the contemporary American marriage with Freedom, a bestselling book detailing the lives of the Berglunds. Walter and Patty Berglund live in St. Paul, Minnesota, and lead a happy life complete with envious neighbours. Their lives begin to crumble though when their son Joey begins sleeping with the girl next door, who is decidedly older. Following this revelation, the plot is twisted and tangled in a million different ways that will keep you constantly looking around corners, desperate to know more about the family.
