When it comes to a degree from a college or university, to me there is many different ways to approach it. I think many people choose a program that teaches them job skills so that they are ready to go into their chosen profession right after finishing college. There is also, however, the method of majoring in something that you are interested in but does not come with the benefit of knowing what particular job you are going to go into after college. Someone who is going into medical school obviously is going to be a doctor of some kind, and someone pursuing law is going to be a lawyer or judge. There are many degrees out there that will not set you up like this, but if you have passion in a field, I think you should go for it. Philosophy is one of these subjects. Many people probably think that philosophy is an old or maybe even dead subject, but there are plenty ways to apply it to today's world. You can earn an online philosophy degree these days, so if you are a little bit tech savvy and are interested, go for an online philosophy degree. An online philosophy degree with give you many skills that I believe are useful today. Having an online philosophy degree will probably give you a better understanding of ethics and you may be able to apply them to life today. One key element in the study of philosophy is debate. I am not sure for certain, but I bet when earning an online philosophy degree you probably take part in a debate or two between other classmates. The skills used to perform a cohesive, strong debate are definitely invaluable today same as they have always been. If you are interested in the subject, then you really should look into earning an online philosophy degree.
