While getting the human body imaged through ultrasound, the ultrasound transducers play an extremely important role. In fact, without these efficient devices around, you just cannot obtain an image. Ultrasound transducers vary immensely in terms of design and make. As such there is a whole variety of these devices available in the market today. They differ from one another in terms of shape and size or image capabilities. Let us now analyze a few of them. For thyroid ultrasounds, on the other hand, the ultrasound transducer must come with high frequency of ten megahertz nearly. This is because thyroid is not a very deep structure and will therefore require a high frequency device. For early pregnancy ultrasounds, transvaginal varieties are most commonly used. These devices are inserted into the female’s vagina one to two inches without covering the whole bladder and therefore, give the best possible access to early pregnancy. . Ultrasound transducers are used mostly according to the study. Another important factor is the depth of the tissue which is being visualized. A majority of them are fully adjustable during the scanning process. In other words, an ultrasound transducer might have a range of three to five megahertz but it is least likely to have a range of two to ten megahertz. It is important for diagnostic ultrasound machines to have transducers. This enables them to view the image with clarity. An image, it has to be remembered, cannot be obtained unless there is gel on the skin. In applying the gel on the patient’s body, medical professionals use a probe cover or condom. The gel is applied uniformly to the probe’s tip both outside and inside it before being inserted. Again, without having the gel, image will not come out.
