Boat fendering is a type of bumper that is attached to a boat and offers protection to the body of the boat when it is pulling up against a jetty, wall or other vessel. They are similar to buffers used in shopfitting. Boat fendering prevents a boat from sustaining any damage by absorbing the kinetic energy that is generated when a boat pulls up against something. All types of boats will have boat fendering on to protect them from damage and there are various different kinds of boat fendering to choose from. The choice of boat fendering products include aluminium fendering, stainless steel, rubber, rigid and flexible PVC profiles, D, U and B profiles and other profiles. Boat fendering is available for any kind of boat from a simple dinghy to a large fishing boat or yacht. When it comes to choosing Boat Fendering people will need to know if they have a flat or flanged surface to fit the fendering to. Working boats that require heavy duty boat fendering will tend to opt for heavy duty ‘D’ profile fendering whereas boats such as day cruisers would choose a PVC or aluminium profile with a PVC insert that doesn’t look out of place on an attractive boat. All boats no matter how large or small, expensive or inexpensive will need to have boat fendering fitted else the boat will become damaged which could result in very costly repairs being needed. Boat fendering will be made to measure to ensure a perfect fir the customer’s boat and the optimum material will be used depending on the boats designed application to guarantee the best results. Some companies who design and create boat fendering products will also supply a range of shopfitting products as both are made from the same materials. Buffer systems are one of the main products that many shopfitting companies will specialise in and these are made in a similar way to boat fendering systems. Buffers are used around shop counters and other internal fittings to provide a safe and attractive finish and to protect units and customers from harm. Shopping fitting companies will be able to create bespoke buffers for customers using a range of materials in virtually any size and colour that the customer requires.
