When a car windscreen has a chip or crack in it, it will need a windscreen repair as soon as possible. If small chips or cracks in a windscreen are left untreated they can soon turn into much larger cracks which can be very dangerous. Most car garages and main dealers will offer windscreen repair and windscreen replacement services but they are likely to be much more expensive compared to using a mobile windscreen repair service. In recent years mobile windscreen repair companies have become increasingly popular as more customers see the benefits and cost savings associated with using this service. People will often assume that a new windscreen or a windscreen repair will be very costly so they ignore the problem which ultimately will result in them having to spend more money fixing the damage as it worsens overtime. People should be able to claim on their car insurance for a Windscreen Repair but many people won’t if it will affect their no claims bonus. Some car insurers will allow people to claim for a new windscreen or windscreen repair without losing their no claims bonus as they realise it is such as common problem and one that is usually not the drivers fault. Most windscreens get damaged by small stones hitting the glass whilst people are driving and these can make a small chip or crack. If this small chip is repaired as soon as possible a new windscreen will not be needed in most cases. To carry out a windscreen repair high pressure resin is injected into the chip or crack and this seals the area and prevents the crack from spreading. A broken windscreen can be repaired very quickly but it may need to be left for an hour or so after the resin has been applied to allow it to set. Most companies who offer mobile windscreen repair services will also be able to repair any other glass in the vehicle such as side windows and back windscreens. Often people’s windscreen or other glass in the vehicle will be damaged if the car is in an accident or if it gets vandalised and broken into. If this is the case it will need to be repaired urgently and many companies will be able to come to your home, workplace or any other location to carry out a quick windscreen repair or windscreen replacement.
