While you relocate to another place, you need to ensure that all belongings reach your new home intact and in the condition they were when packed. Makeup is one of the delicate items that require extra attention, so keep these points in mind while packing: - You need to line your makeup bag with a thin cloth that will provide extra cushioning for items that are breakable.
- Categorize your makeup into different groups and select the most versatile products like a palette with multiples shadows/shades, a neutral lipstick and gloss and one with color, mascara and eyeliner.
- Don’t pack your makeup brushes with the rest of the makeup. They should always be kept in separate compartments, because if there is an accidental spill, your tools will not be damaged.
- People have often complained about opening their palette after unpacking, to see powdery eye shadow all over it and all colors grossly mixed up! Can you imagine what it would be like to see your neutral shadows nowhere in sight and the greens and blues liberally mixed up? That is why you should cut out a small sheet of plastic wrap, place it over the eye shadow, and gently tap it in place as it will help hold it together.
- Don’t pack glass items next to other bottles made of glass. Hard surfaces bumping against each other might cause cracks or worse still the contents of those containers might spill all over each other. Secure glass foundation bottles with clear plastic wrap as it provides additional support and cushioning to containers and also helps to keep the caps in place. Cut out a strip and wrap it all around.
- Lipsticks and lip glosses need to be handled with utmost care because they might be damaged if not packed properly. It is advisable to carry your lip glosses and lip sticks in your handbag as the temperature will be cooler than in the makeup bag. It is necessary to maintain a standard temperature as the heat can cause them to melt and change consistency. You can doubly secure them by tying it together with a rubber band. In this way, you can locate them easily while unpacking and don’t have to search through piles of stuff.
- Last but not the least; make sure you choose the correct makeup bag. There are many available in the market that has compartments, which make it convenient, but you should steer clear of the ones made of highly absorbent materials. If there is a mess, it will take you a long time to clean it up if the material absorbs some of it.
