However today the most widely used computers are laptops and PDAs, personal digital assistant, or particularly tablets. Apple Inc. has always been a monopolist in the field of computer, mobiles and all computer accessories, so it released its first tablet, the most significant form of PC ever, the iPad. Apple created a new demand for its product iPad. The laptop sales have now been almost equivalent to iPad. Let us consider their usage and the benefits they offer, and then conclude which is the better from of PC. First and foremost feature that differs them is their size. Typically an iPad weighs around 1 or 1.5 pounds and not more then that. A laptop has an average weight of around 6 to 8 pounds, heavier than the iPad. For those who need to travel a lot, iPad is the best device for them. There is no packing, unpacking, rebooting, and it does not take long time to load, etc. also, iPad is ultra thin and ultra portable, with dimensions of a book. It is stylish and so if size is consider, buying an iPad is the best option. Another feature, through which we may compare the two, is the life of their battery. In this too, the iPad takes it all, because it can last for up to ten hours in just a single charging. The laptop battery may hardly last for 5 hours or slightly more in a single charging. You can recharge the iPad because its charger is to light that it can be easily carried in ones pocket, however the laptop charger is too big and heavy, sometimes even heavier than the laptop itself that it can not be carried around every where. Producti9ivity can also be emphasized. In this category, iPad is limited to its features and functions. It is unable to support every type of multimedia. It can not quickly responds to large games incase of counter strike. However, laptop is graphic intensive and has a high interaction level to the multimedia stuff. It is infinitely productive. In the hardware connectivity category, laptop takes it all because small devices like iPad are limited to external connectivity. There are no USB ports, no Ethernet ports etc. in a laptop, you have all the ports that you may have in a computer. Ergonomics however is a very controversial topic to decide. No one can tell whether a touch screen is more efficient to use or a standard keyboard and track pad should be used. So based on the above points we may declare that professionals should use a laptop for office usage, and an iPad would be more preferable for educational purposes because student do not usually have to deal with many issues. http://www.electrocomputerwarerhouse.com
