A lot of people start their day with a cup of coffee. But choosing a coffeemaker machine requires being pretty careful. Recently more than 600,000 coffeemakers were recalled in the United States and Canada as they caused injuries. Around 60 facial and hand burns have been reported. The reason of all those cases was the apparent brewing malfunction that can release a gusher of steaming water and grounds. All the injuries reported from faulty brewers were sold at major retailers. The Consumer Product Safety Commission said in one of its statements that buildups of steam in certain Chinese-made Mr. Coffee Single Cup Brewing System models can easily cause opening of the brewing chamber and spewing of the contents. In such situation the user can be easily hurted. Importer Sunbeam Products Inc. which is doing its business as Jarden Consumer Solutions located in Boca Raton, Florida, divulged that it had received 164 reports of the malfunction and claims of 61 burn-related injuries. The coffeemaker costs something between $60 and $80. It comes in black with silver, red or white trim. The coffee device is 11 inches tall and has a Brew Now/Off button as well as a removable drip tray. The water tank is one the top of the unit. The model number can be checked on the bottom of it. The coffeemaker was manufactured in China. The device was sold from September 2010 until August 2012 nationwide at many different stores that include Bed Bath and Beyond, JC Penney, Kmart, Target and Walmart, etc.
