How to Diminish the Bounce Rate in Email Marketing Service

Sometimes the email messages may not reach the recipients and go back to the sender for many reasons. However, the returned email generated by the mail server includes the explanation of the fault that sourced the delivery failure. Based on those mistakes bounced emails are segregated into two types hard bounces and soft bounces

Usually a soft bounce is an email message that returns to the sender due to the a few temporary reasons like domain block, busy inbox, busy network, excess limit of mailbox, account short-term down, network busy, mailbox full etc. Despite numerous attempts if the delivery of message still fails or it still bounces, a soft bounce email is termed as hard bounce.

Now hard bounces are usually the enduringly not delivered email messages. The main reasons for hard bounce are invalid addresses like non existence of domain name or email doesn't exist and spelling errors, or the email service provider has blocked your server, or filtered emails and returned them as hard bounced. Normally the error codes for soft bounced emails start with 4 and hard bounces begin with 5. However, the mail server typically interpret bounces in a different ways, thus hard bounce on one server may be termed as a soft bounced email on a different mail server and vice versa.

Dealing with bounced emails after each email campaign is vital for every sound marketer. Here are few tips by that will help thus you can pursue to reduce the quantity of bounces, decrease email delivery costs, and augment conversion rates of your email campaign:

Confirm email addresses. After the user subscribes your message send them a confirmation email. However, if the message you sent bounces, you will come to know that the address is not legitimate from the beginning. Remember whenever you are creating the signup form include the option of “Confirm e-mail Address" so that the user re-type his email address.

Check emails in your list for validity. For checking the list of invalid email address or domains make use of email verifier software, in fact you will find plethora of verifier. You can also least check the addresses for typos manually.

Verify that you are not blacklisted and confirm that your ISP is also not blacklisted. It is important to check so that you will not receive a bounced message because of blacklist. Eliminate SpamTrap addresses from your list. A spam trap address is an email address, for which anyone should not send an email. These kinds of email addresses are usually added nastily to discover the senders of spam. Examples are abuse@ postmaster@, nospam@, etc.

Incorporate "Change Your Account" link into your emails. It is a good idea if you incorporate this edit option in the mails so that every time subscribers update you whenever they change it. Prior sending a message send a test message to yourself. Prior sending mail to your subscribers, send a test message to yourself or to your colleagues to test if everything is perfect or not.
