One of my associates just finished revamping a platform she’s been building for the past two or three years. |
It was originally a platform for freelancers similar to Upwork and Fiverr, but that concept went in a completely different direction too.
Ever since I was introduced to the platform, I’ve been regularly contributing blog posts, at least until the platform went under construction.
But recently, it had its grand re-opening and I submitted my writing piece for the first time in over one year.
This time, I wrote my piece on my music production journey, which included the lessons I learned throughout.
So I wrote the following:
1. Be patient while experimenting
2. Constantly consume art to improve and evolve your own art
Both lessons can be extrapolated and applied to email copywriting and marketing as well.
The first lesson has to do with things on a more personal level. The best example I can think of is your writing style, or voice, if you will. If you’ve been on my list since the very beginning and compared my very first email to this one, you’ll notice that there’s an extreme difference. That change over time was caused by a lot of experimentation, discovering how I like to write, and finding my unique voice.
As for the second lesson, one of the best ways to improve your marketing and email copywriting is to study your market and other people’s email copywriting styles. If you do those two on a consistent basis and given that you take note of what you learn, then I can almost say for certain that you will be lightyears ahead of the people in your industry.
Just a few thoughts to keep in mind for today.
