The so called building blocks, no matter if it is a wooden block or a plastic one, are known to be one of the most beneficial toys for every kid at an age of between 3 and 8 years. The reason is very simple: it is one of the few toys that are purely intuitive, which develops the kids’ imagination to a great extent. It is the kid that decides what to do with them – the kid may decide to build a road, a chair, a castle or anything else. It may sound like something insignificant to us, the adults, but psychologists strongly advocate for the building blocks’ appliance. But what’s the difference between the wooden block and building blocks made of other materials such as plastic? The answer might turn out to be a bit unexpected to most of the people, but “None”! That is right. The only difference is just the different material which has been used by the manufacturer. Anyway, it cannot remain an unmentioned fact that wooden blocks bring some additional advantages over the others. For example, some types of plastic are considered to be dangerous to the human health. And as kids need to be protected to a maximum degree, it is always better to choose building blocks that are made out of wood. Of course, the plastic ones should not be considered as dangerous or harmful at all. There are thorough checks on the quality of the materials used for all kids’ toys but it is just always better to try to stay away from those problems. And that is possibly only by staying away from the toys made out of plastic. Moreover, having a wooden toy such as the wooden block is always somehow better. If a 60-year old person is asked, they will always tell you that the wooden toy feels somehow different and more special to the kid. Just like those big wooden horses – they are perhaps in the top 10 of kids’ most loved toys. And last but not at least, it should be made clear that a wooden block has a much longer life than the others. Some people might disagree with the statement by saying that wood rots. However, wood that is used for manufacturing kids’ toys has been added some other components (those are complicated chemical compounds) whose aim is to prevent the wood from the process of rotting and to increase its safety as well.
