Everybody loves a good fence. That is why there are fence companies in Parsippany to provide people with great ways to protect their homes or businesses while maintaining privacy. Much film and literature has incorporated fences into their stories. Here are some of fiction’s most famous fence scenes of all time: Tom Sawyer: The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn is considered by many to be the greatest American novel. The book’s two main characters debuted in the much lighter The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, which is still a very popular American novel. The most famous scene in Tom Sawyer involves him tricking the other neighborhood kids into whitewashing a fence which was supposed to be his responsibility. It is no coincidence that the most famous scene of this great work involves a fence. Fence installation is an important part of American culture possibly due to Tom Sawyer. The Sandlot: The Sandlot is the story of a bunch of kids that love to play baseball in a sandlot. Unfortunately, the house next door has a 300 pound English Mastiff guarding it. The only thing that separates the sandlot from the giant dog, nicknamed The Beast by the children, is a fence. Over the years, the children have forever lost many balls over the fence. In one instance, Benny decides that he is going over the fence to get the ball back. The dog chases him, jumping over the fence and follows Benny all through town. The chase scene concludes back over the fence. The fence eventually falls on the Beast, possibly because of poor fence installation, and Benny is free to get his ball. Home Improvement: One of the most popular television shows on in the 90s was Home Improvement. This was about an incompetent handyman and his family. The show’s longest running gag involved scenes where the star, Tim, would speak to his neighbor, Wilson, with a fence between them. You could never see Wilson’s facem but the fence instead. Red Dawn: In the midst of a time when people were Crazy for Swayze, he starred in the film Red Dawn. After America is taken over by Communists, most of the town is imprisoned. There is a famous scene, where Harry Dean Stanton talks to his son Patrick Swayze through a chain link fence very similar to the ones installed by fence companies in Parsippany. The scene culminates with Stanton screaming, “Avenge me!”
