ATLANTA (June 27, 2011) – Jo Kirchner, president and CEO of PrimrosThe Governor and Joe Schools, has been named one of the winners of the Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year award in the Alabama/Georgia/Tennessee region. Kirchner won in the service category for her visionary leadership ineducational child care. The winners of this coveted award, which is renowned in the business community as the world’s most prestigious award for entrepreneurs, were revealed at a gala event on June 23 at the InterContinental Hotel in Atlanta. “This honor is a credit to Jo’s leadership not only at Primrose Schools but in early childhood education,” said Dr. Mary Zurn, vice president of education for Primrose Schools. “Her strong belief in Primrose’s balanced learning approach motivated her to take the organization to a recognized position of leadership in early childhood education. She is passionate about improving the future of education for children and our country, and her extraordinary leadership inspires others to also strive for excellence.” Kirchner will move forward to compete to be one of the National Entrepreneur of the Year Award winners, which will be announced during the Ernst and Young National Awards Gala set to take place November 12, 2011 in Palm Springs, Calif. Kirchner joined Primrose in 1990, leaving her self-owned successful marketing company to pursue her passion for supporting young children. “When I first visited a Primrose School about 20 years ago, I saw an environment that I wish my children could have experienced when they were in preschool.
