LED is light emitting diode. Its basic structure is putting an electroluminescent semiconductor materials on a wire rack, then sealed with epoxy resin around, protect the internal core. That is why it has a good seismic performance. Light-emitting Diode is a kind of semiconductor devices transferring electric energy into visible Light solid state. It can directly convert electricity into light. The heart of the LED is a semiconductor chip. Chip attached to a bracket on one end, the end is negative, the other end connected to the power of the anode, which make the whole chip encapsulated by epoxy resin. Semiconductor chip consists of two parts, one part is a p-type semiconductor, dominated by holes in it, the other end is N type semiconductor, here mainly electronic. But this two kinds of semiconductor connected, forming a p-n junction between them. When current flows through a wire to the chip, the electron will be pushed to P, electron and holes in the P zone compound, then will be issued in the form of photon energy. This is the principle of LED light. And the wavelength of light was the color of the light, is determined by the formation of the p-n junction material. Led Light Manufacturers in China tell us that the initially it was used for instrument indicator light source, then all kinds of light color of LED traffic light and display screen is widely used in large area, produced good economic and social benefits. Take12-inch red traffic lights for example, it could have been used the long life, low luminous efficiency of 140 - watt incandescent lamp as light source in the United States, which produces 2000 lumens of white light. After the red filter, optical loss of 90%, leave only 200 lumens of red light. However, in the new light design, Lumileds companies adopted 18 red light source, including circuit loss, total power consumption is14 watts, which can produce the same smooth effect. Car light is also an important field of light source. For general lighting, people are more likely to have white light sources. In 1998 developed the white light LED. This is made up by packaging together the GaN chips and yttrium aluminum garnet (YAG). GaN chip send blue light (lambda p = 465 nm, Wd = 30 nm), high temperature sintering of YAG phosphor containing Ce3 + by the excited by blue light yellow light, a peak of 550 nm. Blue substrate is installed in the bowl reflection cavity, covered with thin layer of resin mixed with YAG, about 200-500 nm. LED substrate from the blue part is absorbed by the fluorescent powder, another part of the mix blue with yellow light from fluorescent powder, can get white light. For InGaN/YAG white leds, through changing the chemical composition of YAG phosphors and adjust the thickness of phosphor layer, can get 3500-10000 k color temperature of white light. This method by using the blue light for white light, has the advantage of simple structure, low cost, high technical maturity, so use the most by led light manufacturers in China.
